The clouds began to roll in from out in the bay, the city darkened as their deep, dense grey shrouded the tall buildings and skyscrapers in a thick fog. This was the rainy season and it was time to return indoors. Long gone were the days of radiant blue sunshine and glorious heat. Some had said that this winter might be particularly cruel, it was time to retreat back to the house. 

Post Sonics is a newly formed record label to emerge from Helsinki, it has been formed by the crew behind the acclaimed club Post Bar. Like many other venues the club has struggled in the wake of the pandemic and so the label was born with the desire to inspire creativity and keep things focussed during the ongoing crisis. This is now the first record which they have put out on vinyl - a pacey affair destined to delight in the club.

This revolutionary chapter in vinyl history features the production skills of Maara, Priori, Rudolf C & HearThug, with digital exclusives from Adam Curtain, Anastasia Zems, B.AI & Kepplr.

For Needs 010 we welcome yet another all-star lineup of producers from around the world across vinyl and digital formats. Featuring trancey techno from Montreal’s rising star Maara; chuggy, percussive, mysticism from Priori; sultry minimal grooves from Berlin based Rudolf C, and a constantly evolving spacey acid banger from Tunisia’s leading light HearThug. Amsterdam-based @polychrome_audio returns with a two-part compilation featuring label’s favorites and showcasing its singular curation and perspective on club sounds. 

Part I - Diffraction EP - takes you through the full journey of waveforms traveling through our beloved clubs. Sparking the A-side, Hong Kong’s wonder producer and @mihnclub resident @oliviaxiaolin fires up with a progressive and flamboyant house cut, opening an ambitious dance. The tension is taken one notch deeper with Barcelona’s duo @_iroaka_ signature hypnotic and driving techno sound, dimming the lights for an introspective groove. On the B-side, Lyon’s @julie_desire_ flirts with an electrifying psy-infused track where pounding beats and floating melodies dance in harmony and psychedelia. It is in a firework that Dublin’s prodigy @_dylan.forbes closes out the EP, with an energetic progressive anthem that will light up the space.
