Drum and bass champions Serum, Bladerunner and Voltage, aka Kings Of The Rollers are back in the ring with their latest slammers ‘Overload’ (feat. Sweetie Irie) and ‘Somebody Else Part 2’ (feat. Lydia Plain). In 2020, they released ‘The Main Event EP’, a 4-track smasher packed with heavy basslines, ethereal synths and creeping melodies. The fourth and final instalment of Hospital Records’ popular VA EP series is upon us. ‘Future Symptoms Vol. 4’ rounds off the 2021 release streak with four fresh cuts with some of the most exciting acts emerging to the forefront of drum & bass. This time around expect a full spectrum showcase from Dutta, Viridity, Son, Hallow and xia - the sounds of the next generation.

Opening on a high note, Dutta brings the energy with his latest bouncing roller ‘Set A Level’. Skittery synths and a ruthless bassline showcase his signature sound which he is quickly carving out a name for himself with. His prior experience is not to be left unnoticed, with releases under his belt on Serum & Benny V’s Souped Up Recordings, DnBAllstars and Informal, Dutta is quickly rising to the top.

Hospital Records’ Women In Drum & Bass mentee for 2021 Viridity steps up for track two with a beautifully dark drum & bass stepper featuring her very own vocals on top of her meticulous production skill. Warm your speakers up and get ready for a slew of immersive soundscapes which demonstrate the Bristol-based multi-talented musician’s artistic ability. When she’s not in the studio you’ll be able to find Viridity tearing up stages at club nights and festivals, as well as garnering support from the scene’s biggest publications including UKF.

Son’s ‘Over’ journeys down into the deeper avenues of liquid drum & bass as he marks his debut release in style with a delicately crafted piece of 174BPM mastery. Lose yourself amongst airy pads, sombre vocal chops and crisp breakbeats which seamlessly infuse into a collective stream of soulfulness. It’s safe to say this is a promising debut and the start of something special for Son.

Heading over across the pond to Boston, Massachusetts you’ll be able to find the ambient electronic prodigy that is Hallow. With an impressive selection of music already available to listen to, their Hospital Records debut sees them team up with the stunning vocals of xia who’s also flying the flag for US drum & bass. With the duo no strangers to collaborating, their initial pairing entitled ‘A Walk In The Woods’ was first scouted in Mitekiss’ production feedback streams and received instant support from London Elektricity. ‘Dappled Light’ is a gorgeous follow-up with dreamlike vocals and uplifting instrumentation.

Rounding off the final edition of their widely loved Future Symptoms EP series, Hospital Records have proudly shone a light on and nurtured some of the scene’s most prosperous talents. From an interview with Teebone:
"I didn’t really expected the tune to blow up as it did. When we made the track I was a resident at a club night called Liberty alongside MC Sparks and the idea to make a tune together just came about in conversation. When the time came to choose the beats and lay down some vocals Sparks brought along Kie and we chose the beat from 100’s that I had already put together. The track itself though was literally made overnight with the majority of the lyrics written on the spot.

We experienced a huge bidding war over the track from the likes of Polydor, Warner Music UK and Island Records and although released on vinyl via Rhythm Records, the track was eventually signed to Warner. The decision was made when Oxide & Neutrino went to the top of the UK charts with Bound 4 Da Reload, I received a call shortly after from Warner offering to outbid any previous offers and that, for me, marked the explosion of UK Garage into the mainstream."

Garage Classics has been set up to let you acquire those 'hard to find' classic garage tracks. We will be uploading Classic Garage tracks on a weekly basis, giving away free downloads and mixes each week.

Feel free to contact us if you are after a GARAGE track and cant find it anywhere, we will do our best to track it down and upload for you.

All tracks are ripped from the original vinyl's so you may hear some cracks and pops in some really old tracks, but all have been re-mastered, and we have tried to get them to the best standard possible.

Tracks that were released on labels that are still in function wont be downloadable, and if you are an artist, and we have uploaded your track please contact us should you want it removed and we will do so immediately.

This page is here so we can enjoy (and not forget) some old GARAGE CLASSICS! We do not intend to cause offence or loss of earnings for artists.
