Hello from home in Miami. To say that I am so glad to be able to check in with a Global DJ Broadcast episode, playing music for you, would be an understatement. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are, we are all either quarantined, self-isolated and practicing social distancing. With anxiety high and so much uncertainty thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, music is an escape for every one of us. 

I've always thought of this radio show in particular as playing for our entire family of fans - a bond mainly shared in an online world, and music is an inspiration and a healer in times where we have to be alone. Many of you sent emails and messages across social media asking if I could contribute something special. And the answer is yes.

So for this week, I put together a specially extended 4 hour edition of GDJB, titled Community in Isolation. It contains lots of current and recent favorites across trance, progressive and techno, with some mashups and distant classics thrown in too.

My hope is that in doing this for you, it provides the chance to just close out the outside noise and escape for a while, uniting in the sounds. Let's drown out the outside sound and take this journey together.

Here’s some music I sewed together in a tapestry of love. Most of the music is vinyl/tape rips so I couldn’t make a Spotify playlist. Don’t worry, this mix has landing gear. I won’t leave you in a state of withdrawal from last months discotech. This is to to get your body and mind moving in times of isolation, (even though they aren’t seperate, but talk about that another time hehe), not to leave you wanting to party. 

First we get the energy right, by massaging you into a metaphysical realignment. Falling back into the natural flows we then float down that energy stream, you see someone lazing on the bank that reminds you of a time before now, a simpler time, but you wouldn’t give up the now for any of it. Approaching a waterfall section, with a slight drop, we enter into a pool of hip swinging, foot tapping, hell whatever you want really, as long as you're moving. As you come out of the mist of the fallen water you notice a native tribe foraging for their evening meal.  Then taken again by the flow of the river we enter a forest canopy with flowers coming into bloom. A little bird lands on your arm, whispering a secret in your ear. "Isolation is a state of mind, Community is in the spirit." says the bird. This is where I’ll leave you.
