Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have been applauded for their impeccable track selection and exquisite programming. As one of Argentina’s most in demand DJs, Emi has travelled the world, delighting crowds in Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and more. Binaryh bounces back to Steyoyoke Black with two original productions under the 'Boolean Logic'. This EP is a mirror image of the necessity to find right and wrong without considering the paths which brought us to our conclusions.

'Algorithm' sets the tone for the EP with a tantalizing, haunting melody. The algorithm behind 'Algorithm' can be deduced through noting the simplistic, yet powerful, manner of arrangement, coupled with the art of storytelling brought forth by Binaryh.

'Parallels' can be heard as a reflection of our environment's innate reasoning behind similar behavioural patterns with opposing views. Parallels, contrastingly so, find ways to operate with respect to reacting to the other. The contrast of the deep bass lines with the sharp, piercing synthetic sounds showcase a human's unfathomable desire to be different, yet accepted.

Binaryh has conveyed his artistic talents through two all-encompassing tracks to create this 'Boolean Logic' EP, telling an important story of history, logic, maths, and philosophy along the way.

Marc Marzenit´s debut album ´To Love Until We Say Goodbye´ is one of the releases we´re proud of the most, and we decided that it´s about time for a massive remix package for it, because, well, why not. We´ve selected quite a few cool guys to get the job done, and guess what - all of them just knocked it out of the park!

One of the remixes comes courtesy of one of the label’s dear friends Dosem, who steps up to the plate with an expensive soundscape of entrancing melody, pulsating groove and raw emotion.

Next up is a tough and ready remix by Dave Seaman taking things tense, layered and atmospheric way, followed by another rolling rework by Rafael Cerato. Putting a dark techy spin on the original, the producer brings some dopeness to get lost to on the dancefloor. Better believe all the enemies inside you will be satisfied.

A fellow rising star Anthony Godwin aka THe WHite SHadow (FR) also revisits one of the album tracks and takes things deeper, working punchy beats around emotive vocals, floating synths and overall trippy sonics. Chances are you´ll be loving this one not only until you say goodbye, but for a while afterwards too.

Several Definitions remix follows next, showcasing Swiss producers´ skill of crafting a mood uplifting music with a bit of an euphoric touch. You´ll say ´the normally dark and moody Several Definitions´? Yep, in all his glory. We love that side of him.

The duty of closing out this absolute stormer of an EP falls to the aforementioned French producers Rafael Cerato in collaboration with THe WHite SHadow (FR). You wanted some chilled yet groovy ´Theme For The End´ with luscious pads and melodic harmonies? You got it. Guys come at you with three quality dancefloor riders, be that separately or together - no question, no doubt.

Marc Marzenit delivered an amazing body of work 2 years ago, and yet another time all the remixers proved that it´s more than just fun and games. Music not to mess with.

This month marks the return of Steyoyoke veteran Dahu to the label; ever-evolving, subby and percussive, Dahu's 5th EP 'Hesia' sees him pulling out all his signature stops, from ultra low frequency kicks to melancholic synths drenched in warmth. The EP features two original tracks, 'Hesia' and 'From Whence We Came'.

'Hesia' is an exercise in minimalism, developing subtlely until culminating in a ferocious drop layered with resonating mids, a few well chosen percussive elements and a gut pounding kick meant to be felt as well as heard. A heart wrenching lead and bassy resonators combine to hover over the track, dousing it with emotion.

'From Whence We Came' features a complex percussive groove plowing relentlessly forward. The sub-laden kick drum barely lets the listener come up for air, while the lead plays an enticing repetitive mantra, transporting the track into an unexpectedly melancholic dimension, and forging an instant afterhours classic.

As a long term Steyoyoke artist, Dahu has forged his own sound within the sphere of Ethereal Techno. Building on his reputation for sub-heavy melancholia, the 'Hesia' EP showcases old and new aspects of the German producer's unique sound alike.

‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.

Soul Button takes the helm once again with ‘Master of my Fate’. Featuring 4 tracks, his latest coup is an exercise in the beauty of dissonance. 
‘Master of my Fate’ is a haunting track bound to polarize. Detuned to breaking point, a resonant pad sets the scene for a mesmerizing vocal that intertwines with the synths to create an eerie layer of ethereal melancholia. A tom-ridden groove and impatient cymbals provide the groundwork for the breathtaking soundscapes unfolding above.
A compact kick drum introduces the listener to ‘Secret Sense’. Percussive resonant stabs and pads emerge, build, and recede in waves of warmth, finally giving in to an epic lead. ‘Secret Sense’ is a track of ebb and flow, gradually pulling the listener in and out as the highs and lows play an enticing game of hide and seek.
‘Illumine’ returns to blissful dissonance. Detuned keys are at the center of this heart wrenching track, while a smattering of rides seems to merge with an array of glittering synthesizers. ‘Illumine’ hits the listener in the soul and is reminiscent of beauty in the darkest of places.
‘Paramour’ is the groover of the pack. A rapid beat of nuanced tambourines, congas and percussives unfolds gradually, accompanied by an emotive and slowly evolving pad. Bells, guitars and horns enter the fray to create an ethnic soundscape drawing on a wealth of musical heritage in limbo between east and west.
With ‘Master of my Fate’, Soul Button demonstrates that he’s not afraid to push his artistic boundaries and take his signature style to new and unexpected places.
