Garrettboy_Lge (born Louis M. Garrett Jr. in Rockford, Illinois) Is a inspiring American Rapper/Artist/Songwriter who currently Resides in Nashville, Tennessee. GarrettBoy is noted as an soulful but rough edge hip hop artist. As a young child, he relocated to Georgia, and various places before his parents decided to settle in Nashville, Tennessee. At a young age Garrettboy had a passion in writing poetry and song lyrics, never thinking that he would be interested in music. At the tender age of 11 he started to make songs with his friends only to get the recognition of his big brother, the late  Jay-Dubb.  Impressed with his sound Jay-Dubb quickly put his brother under his wing, to create music, only for it to stall due to his brother imprisonment.  
When he got to high school he connected with a couple friends and started rapping again and came in contact with Louisiana hall of fame group Dash Rip Rock lead man Bill Davis. Davis who was impressed with Garrettboy wordplay. Although at the time he was not taking music seriously Mr. Davis encouraged him to keep writing, and welcomed him to the school song writers club. Garrettboy recalls his high school years as. “Everybody wanted to be dboys and jocks, wishing to be seen. I wanted to hustle to disappear. Hustling and getting money is cool, but is it really worth losing my time to a cell.” In 2006 he graduated from high school, at this time he had it in his mind that music was where his heart and soul was at. 
In 2008 months before the untimely demise of his big brother Jay–Dubb, He decided dropping out of college was the best thing to do. He teamed up with Jay Porter and formed Team Rough House which already was a taken name so they changed the name to Explicit Life. After the departure of the artist of the Explicit imprint, he stood loyal to the label and became the work force of the label. While being the only artist on the label he wrote for a lot of artist and worked behind the scenes prior to the labels only album. After the passing of his brother he took a hiatus from music to take a look at life in itself. In 2011 after the hiatus he returned with Fall Down 7 Stand up 8.  After The release of  F.D.7.S.U.8,  Garrettboy was on the Virgo Tour with Money Tree, his own Explicit Life Family and a few more artist, not only has he done shows in Nashville, Tennessee. He has also rocked the house in Atlanta, Ga., Louisville, Ky., Cincinnati, Ohio, and Montgomery, Alabama.
 Although he has dropped a bunch of mix tapes ( Monster Of The Midway & Lays Chips & Porno Flicks which dropped this year), he is currently working on his Circle of Doubt album slated for 2016.
