It has been quite some time since the last time we gathered for a night of MBTS. I wanted to take some time after the pandemic to be quiet and see how the dance music scene would evolve, and what sounds would come out of the standstill that was Covid. Now that I have a good sense of where I want to be sonically, and what kind of energy I want to spread onto dance floors, I am ready to restart MBTS in 2023. Isaiah Martin has been an integral part of programming the music for PlayAlchemist for years and is our Music Maestro for the annual Alchemist Ball. This year he invited Snow Raven to perform live with him and the magic was electric! Their set was completely unrehearsed and a pure flow state of music. Isaiah Martin Feat. Snow Raven - Live Set - PlayAlchemist Sunrise - Friday AM 2022

Celebrating 19 years of Pink Mammoth on Saturday was completely surreal and to think this year will be our 20th as a camp at Burning Man is mind blowing 🤯 — what a beautiful journey. The night was made extra special by having some of the original PM family, that is spread across the country, physically there with us in San Francisco. 

And to add the cherry on top 🍒, Tara Brooks being back on the decks with us was a treat in and of itself. Truly a magnificent family reunion in every sense and I am excited to continue the festivities in New York with Tim Green and Alice Iguchi on Mar 18. Until then... I give you this mix and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing it.

After 8 years this is our last year bringing the Disco Knights camp back to Burning Man. I made this mix with the long drive to Burning Man in mind. Every year the drive up is a very interesting part of the journey for me… I think of it as the emotive start to the burn experience. This year in particular as it’s the last year we’re bringing our disco space ship to the playa. So the anticipation of all the memories of the last 8 years that I know are going to be flying through my mind made me want to play a set that I can rock during the drive through Tahoe hills. Not necessarily a mix of my favorite tracks played at the camp or even a representation of it, but more the feelings I’d like to remember looking back at the last 8 years.

Live @ Burning Man Sunrise From The Golden Gate Art Car 2017

Even though I recorded this mix in my small New Zealand quarantine hotel room, ‘the lagoon’ is a very real place. Last time this year, a small group of friends and I threw a secret bonfire moonrise party at this undisclosed location and I played a set there. This year I can sadly not be there, but I recorded a set with the event in mind. The result is over two and a half hours of eclectic psychedelic sounds. Channel your own inner lagoon the way I did over the past two days putting this set together.

Garrettson Streit is an up and coming DJ and producer in the Denver House and Techno music scene. He is a member of the Denver based DJ collective Split Second. 

Pulling influences from his life long musical journey, Garrett sets a vibe that spans melodic and dreamy, driving groovy basslines, and heart opening techy progressive soundscapes that get you moving. He’s performed at some of Denver’s top night clubs, on top of art cars at Burning Man, and renegade underground parties along side artists such as Random Rab, Shimza, David Hohme, N2N, Desert Dwellers, Dreamers Delight, and Andy Immerman.

A therapist by day, Garrett knows the importance of connection, movement, and community. He is moved by the ancient ritual of uniting people with music to express, feel, and celebrate life. He aims to invite people more deeply into their wholeness through sonic journeys on the dance floor.
