Island of Sounds from the Deep

I wanted to create a piece of music connecting to a new series of paintings Ive been working on. This new series is defined by the colors red, brown, green, black and white/cream. These abstractions create a balanced yet disjointed image. Each color here is a sound/instrument as well as a movement. I connected the ideas of how colors are perceived when it comes to painting and other generally accepted tropes to the way I played the instruments and arranged the movements.

Red - AKAI EWI 4000s
Brown - Roland Tr-606
Green - Roland JX-3P
Black - Moog Grandmother
White/Creme - Silence

I played the instruments out of a small guitar amplifier recorded live in one take using a Reslo ribbon microphone and Ableton Live 11. The idea is to use these instruments with how they correspond to each color. The EWI(red) will be played with intensity and power. The 606(brown) will be calm and grounded. The Jx-3p(green) will be harmonious and balanced. The Moog(black) will be mysterious. And Silence(White/creme) will be the space throughout each take.

Movements
Red - intense/chaotic/intro section
Brown - calming/steady/grounding section
Green - refreshing/bright section
Black - mysterious/secret/outro section

Each movement also portrays the color with how they correspond above. The movements blends into each other taking about 1 minute to form and fade. Each section has a variety of the instruments. While Im painting, the colors require many coats to achieve the solid pure color to show. The movements are layered in the same way to achieve similar final results.
