Always associated with quality underground vibes, the ever-impressive Bondage-Music delivers more of the good stuff, from label favourite Frink.

The title track “Perseus” (with James Dexter) is a wonderful heads down groover, with its subtly dubby flavored groove, and plenty of swagger, this spacious groove merges yesteryear with a fresh essence effortlessly.
“Fresco” is next up, and it feels like fresh air blowing gently across your face, as this bright and punchy workout unleashes its summer sounds, yet retaining a deep slant throughout.

We get serious a “Calama” goes deep, and locks you in to is mystic flavours, while a punchy and crisp set of beats encase the flavours. 

It’s time to loosen those hips for the closing track “Púrpura”, as we slinkily enjoy this housy smiley inducer, fusing deep vibes with a wonderful glow.

"Poison" is next up, and to round off this winning release, with a spaciously deep workout, fusing dubbiness with a sense of urgency, as this late night number lets loose.

After a short break, renowned underground label Bass Culture is back. The outlet has been a source of high quality electronic music since 2009, building a solid reputation over the past 13 years. Label boss D’Julz leads the charge with the first Bass Culture EP since mid-2021.
The Est. 1992 EP sees the seasoned Parisian delving into his own history to produce four cuts that epitomise the sounds present in the early nineties, all wrapped up in contemporary packaging, so they sound fresh, polished and vibrant.

The EP kicks off with ‘Highway’, which merges a 4×4 beat with rolling breaks. A funky bassline drops in along with a vintage melody. As the track develops, D’Julz adds more layers to create a symphony of retro sounds, all bouncing off each other to produce a delightful, uplifting cut.

Next up, ‘Your Mom’s Fav DJ’ also utilises breakbeats to drive the track forward, with a solid groove undulating in the low end. Sultry pads add depth, while Rhodes keys usher in the jazzy second half after a short breakdown. A smooth, mesmerising cut full of flavour. The title track begins with a mysterious riff, gradually introducing that iconic nineties organ to form the bassline. The atmosphere is enchanting, D’julz building the tension and energy with a considered approach. A cut that has a relatively simple arrangement, which creates maximum impact as it hypnotises the listener with its mystical allure.

Lastly, ‘SFUMATO’ closes the EP with a touch of high class funk. This is deep house with funkadelic rhythms straight out of the seventies era. The track emanates warmth, wrapping you up in its smooth, comforting composition.

A great finale for an EP that epitomises the depth and range of Bass Culture… And we’re back.

A2. D'JULZ - YOUR MOM'S FAV DJ [BCR066]

Dust Yard return to Bondage a fine 3 track EP, plus a hot remix from the legendary Sascha Dive. Kicking off with Astral', this deep flowing gem is a tasty swaggering workout, with slightly dubby edges and subtle melodics, this moody little number fuses dark with light, while retaining the groove throughout. Sascha Dive steps up on remix duties and strips things back. Pushing the drums loud and bringing the musicality down, gives this a stompy heads down vibe, before adding squelchy musicality and bringing the pads to shine through beautifully. The next original track from Dust Yard is 'Supernova'. Another deep yet warm slab of goodness, while keeping things deep but letting it really kick! Good vibes galore! 'Zodiac' rounds things off, and we go classic house edged, with its shoulder-swaying bumpinesss, and head nodding percussion. Its groovy baby.

Next up on Gartenhaus is a 10 track, quality deep & tech house sampler, and with both the Danish underground and the international house scene represented, this sampler tries to express all the new tendencies on the deep & techy house scene right at this moment. With genres that ranges from very deep to the funkier house, there’s definitely a track for everybody. There’s no doubt that this release could be the soundtrack of the spring 2012.

Flight Facilities have a brand new single called 'With You', this time featuring the vocal work of Hot Chip drummer Grovesnor – something darker, something deeper and something more mature.

The duo from Sydney bought you 2010’s pop hit ‘Crave You feat. Giselle’ which has netted over 5 million plays on Youtube to date, appeared in cult shows such as How to Make It In America, hit the top 20 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and even impressed Perez Hilton. In 2011 they released the 70’s disco throw back 'Foreign Language feat. Jess’, once again it cracked Triple J’s Hottest 100, topped Australia’s Independent Music Charts, was loved by The Cool Hunter and turned out to be the song Leonardo DiCaprio requests when he’s out clubbing! In that time Flight Facilities have also gone on to remix Cut Copy, Holy Ghost! and Foals and play sell out shows and festivals all across the US, Europe, South America and Japan.

Flight Facilities are first up with their personal extended mix, Germany’s David August, the 20 year wiz kid who’s just be inducted into cult Hamburg label Diynamic, enters with a pitch shifted druggy flip on the original. Danny Daze is the man behind the HUUUGE Hot Creation anthem ‘Your Everything’ and has gone crazy with his glitched out Aphex Twin-esk 5AM mix while UK duo MAM (Matt Hughes and Miguel Campbell) bring it back with a chunky bass and Rhodes summer anthem.
