My primary interest is songwriting which I’ve been doing since I was a kid.  I have some music background but I primarily play the piano and have no formal training in it at all.  I learned to play by ear. 

I prefer to write melancholy over frolicking pop.  Despite this, I consider myself a chipper person most of the time. 

Some of my favorite artists are: Elton John, Ben Folds, Sufjan Stevens, Diana Krall, Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainwright, Joni Mitchell…. 

Obviously I have a type :).
