Back For Good

Gary Burt formed Rice Pudding Records and the band Slow Smile in 1997. Rice Pudding Records first release was Back For Good by Slow Smile previously made famous by the British 'boy band' Take That.  An EMI/VIRGIN Spokeswoman told Gary that “Gary Barlow was caught in a moment and approved it"..and that .."Rather than liking it he was staggered by it”.  The legendary DJ John Peel rang Gary (Burt) who happened to be in the bath at the time to let him him know it was to be played on his show.  To accompany the single release Gary shot a video which was played on MTV and is still available on Youtube.  Between 1997 and today Gary has released about 50 songs which can be found on iTunes and other music sites. Live performances have been few and far between but the 2011 album release "Happiness Is Not a Consumable" includes 4 live tracks from a concert in 2010.  His style of music varies from day to day and listeners will experience folk, punk, rock, alternative, electronic, metal and more - sometimes on the same album.
