This transcendent composition emerged out of the Musical Aether as my SC friend Jörg Stohwasser @joerxworx  added his amazingly Sonorous Saxophone to the Setting i created with my ES7 Electric piano.  
And wow! ... something wondrous was created! 😃

Originally released as a much shorter version, i felt i owed it to those wanting to 'get lost' within the tones and spaces of this piece, to create an extended version.

My SoundCloud friend from the UK Martin Dean recently took me up on a suggestion that we create something beautiful together. Something spoke deeply to me while listening to his Cloud, and after about a month of consideration he settled on this improvisational piano piece of mine, and worked to orchestrate it along the 'less is more' principle.                              And OMG... something wondrous was born as you can readily hear.  Bless your Ears and your Soul, Martin!  and Thank You for engaging.

Explanation: Why is there a huge eye in the sky? Diamond dust. That is an informal term for small ice crystals that form in the air and flitter to the ground. Because these crystals are geometrically shaped, they can together reflect light from the Sun or Moon to your eyes in a systematic way, causing huge halos and unusual arcs to appear. And sometimes, together the result can seem like a giant eye looking right back at you. In the featured image taken in the Ore Mountains of the Czech Republic last week, a bright Moon rising through ice fog-filled air resulted in many of these magnificent sky illusions to be visible simultaneously. Besides Moon dogs, tangent arcs, halos, and what's called a 'a parselenic circle', light pillars above distant lights are visible on the far left, while Jupiter and Mars can be found just inside the bottom of the 22-degree halo. "

Beyond Belief *  Anomon & Elliot

Tim Elliot and I are delighted to offer you our latest Creation as the Harmonic,  Electric, 'One Mic- One Take' Improvisational Duo' - Shekinah Fire * 

As we Let Go in the moment, and improvised this Tone Poem using only Tim's Custom Atilla Guitar and my Kawai ES7 Stage Piano, the Solar Winds definitely seemed as if they were blowing thru our instruments... releasing sounds of Passion, Glory, and the occasional Solar Storm. 

But we'll leave it up to your Ears and Imagination to envision it all. 

Again, this is an improvised electric Symphonic Composition of a number of Movements... All born of our letting go of any pre-planned design, and depending only upon our Deep Listening and where the Music was leading us.

We can also promise you that if you stay with the unfolding flow there will be continual 'flowerings' as it radiates outwards and reveals itSelf.

The Dancing Wu Li Masters *

As mycelia, seeds, bulbs, and all manner of vegetation find the right conditions within the dark nurturing surround of the earth they find themselves in, they awaken, and grow. Ultimately they break surface and reach upwards towards the Light. 

In this 'one mic-one take' improvisational conversation, Tim Elliot (on his Telecaster) and I (playing his ancient upright Grand Piano) found ourselves experiencing a similar process.
 
From within a space of Deep Listening, we almost immediately found ourselves being led into a kind of tonal awakening....a kind of sonic soaring...
discovering subtle grooves that seemed to be the outer manifestations of the synchronicity we felt whilst exploring the spaces between the notes.  😊

Within the Radiant Glow of a Campfire far from home ,
I am Warmed...
and Relax into the velvety dark beauty of the night ...

My mind floats effortlessly ...
Upstream... 
into the Plethora of Light
that is The Milky Way...
and Within that Space Between The Notes.

And here, i find my Self...
At Peace...
and Whole.

But far from simply Dreaming.

And as the primal Rhythms whisper of Wonders beyond the crackling fire, Fanning  the momentum of this moment within the Stillness of this Wondrous Night,
a Perspective is Painted that I've never seen or known before...

Indeed,  I'm Drawn up... 
Wholly into the resplendent Magic that flows...
out from the Center 
that's everywhere ...
Speaking eloquently
of the  Cosmic Consciousness
that eX-Pands forever.....

And Yes... 
Above my upward gaze...
there be a glittering Treasure Chest of Stars
Spilling Light across the Velvet Sky...
that Twinkles out a Radiant message to all who behold their Glorious Light.
That Feel Within, 
the Resonant Thrum,
That Yes!

The Truth is True, and All is Well.
And Heaven and Earth are One.
And their Music flows through all

What She Said

Tonight a JazZBlues Piano Improv w Bass n Drums took form out of a little musical meme that's been rolling round my soul for years. It's loosely based on an abstraction of a musical idea that we've all heard in various popular Songs that are  part of what i'd call the vocabulary of 'The Blues'.  

In any case...  i  Hope you enJoy it as much as i did as it Flowed through these 10 Little Fingers. :)

Pause... and Flow

It is my deep and heartfelt pleasure to share with you my composition 'Oases of Joy' with the wondrous orchestral co-composing of the brilliant Jeff Torres. To enjoy more of Jeff's music, please venture over to @JTcmposr

This is our second collaboration and i couldn't be happier with the result. Please... for maximum inJoyment, using your headphones, and ... put it on 'Repeat'.  :) I wager its Beauty will move you.  

Again, Jeff 's intuitively sensitive reading of my simple melodies and long rubato phrasing' took this piano composition to a Whole New Level. I remain forever in his debt.

I also want to mention that i used this heartfelt piece at my wife Paige's 'Celebration of Life' after her sudden passing, as it captured the essences of our long and loving relationship.

Oases Of Joy- with Jeff Torres

This tune is about 'What We've Said' ... to ourselves and others whilst to-ing and fro-ing in this ol' world. I hope you pick up on the underlying self-deprecating humor in the music. ;)

This also includes what we've expressed non-verbally in the moment, to ourselves and 'others', whether via thought, feeling, or through those invisible cords of connection shared with friends and loved ones around the globe.

That said... here's my latest 'Sound Seed', an upbeat bluesy Piano Improv that came through while jamming with a few friends recently.

Chilled Piano with Spiced Rubato

Our heartfelt Song to you,  the Heavens, and All of Life.  

This delightful musical/spiritual collaboration unfolded so naturally, organically, and with such ease; the fruit of our mutual appreciation of each other's music over several years on SoundCloud.  In-deed, it was something magical that couldn't and wouldn't be rushed. :)  
So...
When my dear Norwegian friend and vocalist Oddrun Eikli   https://soundcloud.com/oddrun-eikli  let me know that she was really taken with my piano piece `Hymn To The Heavens'  @  https://soundcloud.com/gary-courtland-miles/hymns-to-the-heavens  I jumped at the chance to engage with her and sent the piano track immediately. 😁 Thankfully, she replied that as she had a special feeling for it, that she would love to try. And OMG, did she ever!  The result is a 50/50 collaboration that many listeners have described as 'Stunning'. I agree whole-heartedly.

Several months later, Oddrun wrote again, this time enclosing her Vocal tracks and a rough mix of how it sounded to her as a whole. Needless to say, she totally `blew me away`with the depth and beauty of her creative contribution.  I am still in awe of what she did. Here's what she said about the experience.  

    " I sing from the heart. 
       I have sung again and again until I found my way with the music. 
       It is a meditation, it is gratitude to what was, what is, and what is to come.
       I am so grateful for this journey in your music. 
       It has enriched my life. 
       With your wonderful music and this journey, I feel such joy and  
       tranquillity. W we will be best friends forever.

        I sing in Norwegian. Here is a translation, Gary.

Galactic Streams _ Anomon and Gina Wood

There's no doubt about it, Music animates my Soul, and as an enthusiastic student of Life as well as a passionate Improvisational Pianist &  Composer, as far as I'm concerned, our lives would be impoverished without it ! :)  Composing is all about 'Sharing the Joy, Passion and Angst' we experience in Life, as well as connecting with Musicians and 'Creatives' worldwide. This makes it even more wonderful!  That willingness to engage in whatever way makes SC an ever-expanding Movable Feast that nourishes and inspires on so many levels. 

Music Communicates the Emotional and Informational Content and Context of Heart, Mind, Spirit, and Soul. And 'Letting it Flow' is 'Where Its At' as I hear it!  

Over the past few years since becoming part of the SoundCloud Family, my 'Joy in and Passion for' Creative Musical Expression has increased exponentially as has my appreciation of all the wonderfully passionate Musicians and Creatives worldwide who have devoted themselves to Letting It Take Form! 

Here's a bit of a bio, if anyone is interested.  

Somehow, my MUSE got my attention at a tender age. About the time I was completing my Royal Conservatory training. 

My memory being poorer than most, I began improvising in the passages I had forgotten. And while the audience seemed unaware, my teacher chastised me indulgently, saying, "it appears I have a budding composer on my hands"!  And thus began my Odyssey into the wonderful Vibrational world of Sound!:-) In-deed, I have been an ardent, attentive and appreciative acolyte of my Muse ever since. 

During the early 1970s I had the pleasure and honour of a three year friendship and Master Class with the then Octogenarian Composer Manoah Leide-Tedesco , one of Tone Poem giant Richard Strauss` favorite pupils and friend of Maurice Ravel and other 20th century composers such as Stravinsky (whose music he helped popularize). Since then, whether Improvising, listening, studying composition or devoting myself wholly to the visual arts for years at a time, I have been deeply aware that sharing my musical insights , teaching, and or mentoring young aficionados came with the territory!   I love it, although I am afraid that as my consciousness expands...that I know less and less each year! :-)  

The Tonal Oasis called SoundCloud is a fine and wondrous place in oh so many ways.  And with your support and appreciation, I de-Light to share my music with an ever widening audience. I call what i upload ' Sound-Seeds'.  Most of these 'bed tracks' call out to be fleshed out by passionate soloists who somehow Resonate with my Soundz and Ideas.  So please drop me a line, as i am most interested in letting them bear more fruit through collaboration, interpretation, re-mixing or use in other media.    

And on a personal Note, a Huge Thank-You to each and all who listen, inJoy, and Re-Post onwards what finds it's way thru me! :) Bless y'all.  It's my Joy to simply 'Let' the Creative Spirit find expression through this instrument of Body, Mind, and Heart!  I hope you will find some peace, joy, and rest, in at least some of my improvisations, compositions, or soundz. 

Insofar as playing, and composing  ... as you continue on in Your journey into  the infinite 'Cave of Wonders' we call Music, I wish you all the very best in all Your creative endeavours. 

So Be Kind to yourSelves and one another. Be Audacious, Ready to Play, and above all, share the Joy of being able to express whatever you're feeling. 

In-deed, may The Muse continue to 'Sing on and Play on' through each of us !   For this is one way this 'ol world is lifted up, and Changed for the better - note by note, and smile by smile .  

 Yes, may we simply Let our Creativity flow forth without concern for results.
