One of the most iconic album series in drum n bass is back, the fourth edition of Platinum Breakz has arrived and some are saying it is the best in the series. The album is largely made up of Drum n Bass’s best new players, with appearances from the labels first wave also appearing. The strength of the artists on the compilation says much about the healthy position Metalheadz is in right now and as an overall package the album is a perfect instalment in an iconic series.

Comparisons are easy to make but it really does feel like Bi-polar tread the same path as former Headz artists Hidden Agenda, and listening to Interlude it’s easy to hear why. The juxtaposition of stepping drums and deep bass against the soulful flourishes in the track really encapsulate that classic Headz soul.

Bipolar - Interlude

Taking the Bassic podcast into the Summer months, Mako brings us a live mix to prepare us for some of his strongest releases to date over the next few.
