Nicolas Rada returns to the label with a stunning collection of tracks.

Buenos Aires born and hometown hero, Nicolas' trajectory has risen exponentially in recent years. From humble beginnings crafting exceptional edits and unofficial remixes, to signing music for The Soundgarden, Get Physical and Balance Music to name a few, this third generation superstar is gaining a global fanbase and high profile fans including some of his musical heroes. He's in fact become a regular studio partner with Nick Warren and his music is often showing up in high profile dj's tracklists.

This new Ep opens with 'The Wind Phone' where chuggy beats and nuanced sonics take you on a hypnotic journey; the subtle changes catching you by surprise.

'El Oro des los Tigres' is full of latin flair and not only for his title. Smooth and sultry, the sparse percussive beat are leaving plenty of room for the funky bass and airy pad sweeps. Coming to a crescendo in the final break, the energy swell feels like a cold aural shower on your soul. 

Finally, 'Cascadia' rounds out solid EP. Dynamic and upbeat, the ebb and flow of melodics creates an amazing peak time ride!

As Circulation, Paul Davis has found himself at the leading edge of underground dance music for over 25 years. Initially, with former production partner Matt Jackson, Circulation was responsible for a string of high-profile releases for the likes of Bedrock, Selador and Hooj Choons with performances at Fabric (London), Creamfields (Argentina) and Sónar (Barcelona). Now making his Particles debut, "Mistinguette" is an elegantly constructed melodic gem that lilts gently across its near 7-minute timeframe with a clicking / popping top-line and sub-bass groove. Sumptuous pads and liberally scattered effects add to the luxurious canopy of sound before an ethereal vocal line opens up the breakdown to spine-tingling effect. Picking up the rhythmic poise again in the second half combined with melodic charm and vocal phrasing, the track is a magical debut offering.

Jamie Stevens has been a regular contributor to Proton labels over a star-studded career stretching back more than two decades first through work with the ARIA award-winning, Infusion act. Alongside work for Bedrock, microCastle and Meanwhile, 5 remixes for Proton Music have showcased an inimitable Australian talent with reworkings for the likes of Petar Dundov, James Monro and Hrag Mikkel, the latter in December 2023. Now returning to Particles after a May 2020 remix of Sam Hopgood's "Lobster", the Jamie Stevens remix takes "Mistinguette" on a propane-fuelled journey of chunky beats and synth phrasing. A mesmerising motif forms a foundation from the second movement from which a panoply of new phrases, effects, scattered sounds and vocal flourishes evolve into a new interpretation that moves into familiar sounding territory in the second half to share a common theme with Circulation's original.

An artist with a long and successful career both as globally touring DJ, producer and label owner, the UK-born, Brazilian-based James Monro has had a string of hits on both Proton labels. A half-century of releases comes on Proton Music, not least through 3 volumes of the successful "Sanctuary" series, while remixes for Derek Howell, Sapiens & Springa, Roger Martinez and VovaWave sprinkle stardust across the Particles catalogue. Now returning to the label for the first time since 2019, the James Monro remix of "Mistinguette" is a typically powerful and driving number that takes the core melodic themes of the original and transforms them into a club-friendly banger. A chest-thumping kick, ticking hi-hat groove and rousing glissando bassline sequence provide the backdrop, while a swathe of new melodies entwine easily with familiar chord progressions and sweeping pads. The result is another stunning James Monro interpretation.

Originally from Dublin but now firmly ensconced in his adopted Australian home, Alan Thomas Doyle has carved a growing reputation with his Amháin production moniker. Here he joins forces with Stockholm producer EMPHI for a classy outing of proper progressive which doubles as both their Balance Music debut.

A fresh morning glow imbues 'Hallen'. The percussion is crisp, sizzling with vibrant urgency, complemented by a gentle bottom end. Above it all, hoisted high in the sky, hangs a mist, a clearing fog filled with reverb carrying wonderful sounds. From deep within that mist, the rising tone of an expectant synth materialises. It promotes unity and joy, offering warm comfort after a long night.

With 'Hekla,' we progress towards the moment the sun sets. The minor keys create a more mysterious force, suggesting deeper introspection. The drums are sturdier yet inviting, made more hypnotic by the rhythmic shift of the bass throb. A syncopated wood block vibrates, serving as a starting point for classic synth sounds to emerge. During the breakdown, a vocal sample is introduced, offering prudent, reflective advice. The night is looking good.

Kamilo Sanclemente joins Dabeat for his new EP - Decode.

The Columbian DJ, producer and musician made his debut back in 2008 with ‘Dare to Believe’ on D-Formation’s Beat Freak Recordings, and dare he did! Now signed to an enviable list of high profile imprints including Global Underground, UV and Anjunadeep he’s become one of the most consistent artists out there. Collaborations form a large part of his output; enoying the camaraderie and like-mindedness that working as a team brings to the creative process, long time partners Kamilo Sanclemente and Clubsonica boss Juan Pablo Torrez feature heavily.

Opening with a solo project, ‘Reverie’, Dabeat’s trademark sound is front and centre. Silky smooth and utterly infectious, the rolling percussive beat develops warm pads and far away arps. Dropping some spiky acid midway ups the ante. Later still, more melodics lift the mood alongside some stuttered vocals. Absolute mastery.

Next up, a collaborative effort with Kamilo that boasts latin flair in spades. Building slowly over the opening four minutes, spacey synths and a shuffling percussive underbelly combine magically. Deeply hypnotic, the groove quickly takes control and all you can do is find your space and dance the night away.

Born in Rosario in the province of Santa Fe, Lucas Degiorgi has been involved in the underground dance scene for over a decade. With music signed to such esteemed imprints as One Of A Kind, Balkan Connection and Mistique Music, it is a pleasure to welcome the Argentinean to Particles. Maintaining a rich percussive narrative that flows through the quartet of original tracks with its roots in South American rhythms, "Charger" builds with ease via heavy bassline groove, powerful synth motifs and syncopated patterns. Textured pads, reverb-rich vocals and white-noise effects add to the potent aural collage. Accompanied by heavy beat and evocative breakdown, sparkling delayed synths permeate "Meteoro" in moving patterns, while subtle melodic layers add intrigue aplenty. The ambient effects and birdsong of "Iguazú" trip alongside free-flowing jazz phrases and layered vocal phrasing to create a unique affair. A 4/4 kick, off-beat percussion and recurring synth trope provide familiar club-friendly rhythms in a highly original piece. "Midnight" returns to more traditional progressive house fare as dominant beat and off-beat hats and shakers lay the foundation of flowing pads and repeated motifs create an atmosphere that lends itself well to the title. Subtle additions post-breakdown add further to the eerie vibe and overall track evolution.

No stranger to the Particles roster, Blood Groove & Kikis bid a welcome return to the label. Regulars on Silk Music, Spring Tube and Perplexity Music, a 2015 debut remixing Australian star, GMJ, began an impressive Particles portfolio. Further reworkings of Andre Sobota, East Café and Matt Rowan & Robbie Lowe in mid-2020 has continued an impressive collection as the Latvian duo now return to Particles with a stellar reworking of "Charger". Full of trademark silky smooth production skills, a strong beat and sublime rolling groove form the backbone for a chugging, head-shaking remix to drive forward with heavy bass pattern in tow. Richly textured pads add to the sonic collage as echoes of Degiorgi's original ripple across the mid-range. A swathe of original production from the Latvian pair can be heard throughout as the track reaches new and dynamic intensity in the second half.

2020 newcomers to the underground production scene, Peruvian and Mexican duo, Stranger Tourists, have made quite an impression with their distinctive organic and deep house sound. With a lofty ambition to "tell stories and express emotions through music", the pair have hit the ground running after their "Call of the Ancients EP" for Mirrors Label in January. Going on to see their work featured for the likes of RYNTH, Suprematic and The Purr, Stranger Tourists make their Particles debut with an imaginative reworking of "Charger" that captures the organic house vibe of the original with its ambient birdsong while adding an array of new melodic production material that gives their remix a melancholic air. Full of rhythmic charm with driving beat, reverb-soaked vocal phrasing and acoustic guitar add further weight to an opulent remix.

Lucas Degiorgi has provided an impressive debut "Journey" with a quartet of originals and remixes from Blood Groove & Kikis and Stranger Tourists.
