I created a classical style piece using diminished chords in the key of G. It has the dreamy aspect of a lullaby. I used 2 tracks for acoustic guitar and the Dimension Pro 64 synthesizer's 'Cello Legato' patch. I input the MIDI using my new Roland A-300PRO controller keyboard.

Diminishing Returns

Folk. Written by Gary W. Shoe in 2010. Just recently added the mandolin part and stripped out some of the old MIDI tracks. The result is much cleaner and intimate, I think.

The railroad stopped
When the busy town was new
The children ran 
When the train whistle blew

Who was on board
Where were they bound?
Indians were camped 
On the edge of the town

	Grew more lovely with each year
	By ’07 she had married 
	A masonic engineer

Some angels born
Could not stay
As their mothers held them
Their souls flew away

Others by Grace

Barbecue in Guffey 

On a summer afternoon
strings slide and bend

Old Ed’s still roping them
He just turned 81

Denis feeds some neighbors

With a tender yearling buck

He made many monuments
All alone

All The Things You Gave

Owen What’s Growin’

1.  Owen, what’s growin’ in your garden?
     Did you plant your seeds in April
     Just before the snow?

    When it melts again in May
    On those warm and sunny days
    That’s when you’ll get to watch ‘em grow

2.  A watermelon would be nice this summer
     Make sure the soil is loose 
     And leave them room to spread

     Are you growing squash and beans
     Carrots and some peas?
     Water them before you go to bed
