Chanting of vedic chant, "krato smara krutum smara" in four different tonal arrangements.   It literally translates as "God/the Universe, please remember all that i have done, please remember."   It is useful as a chant of surrender of all that has been done.

Sixteen verses from the Ribhu Gita chanted by gary weber.  

The first 8 are on "I am not this body" with the refrain "In all the three periods of time, it is not.  All is Brahman."  

The second 8 are "I am..." with the refrain "Bliss is the supreme measure.  This, which is visible is nothing at all."   

Ramana Maharshi urged his closest followers to chant the Ribhu Gita "even if they didn't understand it" as a powerful practice.

Chanting of the ancient Vedic chant, lokah samastha sukhinu bhavantu, which translates as "May all beings (in all worlds in all planes) have peace (happiness and well-being)".   It the well-known Peace Chant in many traditions.

Lokah Samastha

Chanting of "asato ma", a famous Vedic chant.   

The first line of the text is "asato ma sat gamaya" which translates as "From nonbeing to Beingness lead me".   

The second line is "tamaso ma jyotir gamaya" which translates as "From darkness to the Light lead me".   

The third line is "mrtyur ma amritam gamaya" translates as "From death to eternal Bliss lead me".

Asato Ma

Chanting of a chant combining affirmation, negation and self-inquiry, the three pillars of nondual awakening as outlined in the teachings of Ramana Maharshi.  

The chant goes "vigraha naham" (i am not this body), "indriya naham" (i am not these senses), "vrittiya naham" (i am not these thoughts), "kutaham" (where am I?), "so ham" (i am That).

The chant can also be done w/the inquiry "where am I?" on the inhale, and the a negation "i am not this..." on the exhale, through three rounds and then on the fourth and fifth rounds on the exhale do the affirmation "i am That".   

Feel free to make your own arrangements.   Many folk have found this to be a powerful practice for nondual awakening.

Vigraha Naham

Chanting Nirvana Shatakam, Shankara's celebration in six verses of his understanding of nonduality and the Blissful Beingness that he experiences.  

Each verse is three lines of negations stating all that Shankara is not, like his senses, body, desires, attachments, spiritual practices, etc.  The fourth line refrain is stating what Shankara is, which is  Beingness and Bliss and that he is Everything, or Shiva.

This version has both the yoga and nondual versions of the 6th verse.   The one that has "sada me samatvam" is the preferred nondual version.

Nirvana Shatakam

Chanting of Upadesa Saram, Ramana Maharshi's "Essence of Instruction" which captures all of the essential aspects of advaita Vedanta.  This text is used by major Vedanta centers as a complete course in advaita.
