Halloween is here and with it my project for 2021 – A live cover of ‘Day and Night’ from the beautiful horror tales of Shiki. 🧛This piece also dwells on similar progressions from the song Epitaph and I focused on these with the string section…🤔hmm far from perfect as I don’t play well with a metronome sooo… the arps aren’t always at a steady pace and I play by ‘feeling’ the music, obviously not to everyone’s taste and that is o.k. 😊 The original soundtrack cannot be improved but I’m hoping this may compliment the original masterpiece nonetheless. 👋🎄Merry Christmas everyone 🎅 just for fun I remixed one of my favorite tunes around the year of '07 when Roger Shah released his Acoustic album. This was one of a few classics I thoroughly enjoyed on that album and the CD holds some good memories that I like to keep close.🎶
I ran out of time on this project, I guess this is the best I could do using the original track without an acapella vocal stem.

Synth arps shimmer and circle around while a female poet speaks mysteriously and emotionally about my current inspiration Greek Goddess 'Khione' which features in a novel I'm currently reading. Wooden organic percussion & sticks feature at the peak of this track with a live flute recording and enchanting 'New Age' style melodies. 💥To celebrate Unreal's 25th Anniversary💥 I've done a remix of 'Shared Dig' This is only the 'Action/Beats' arrangement part of the song. Because of this I took a Psy Trance approach 🔊🎶
In some parts I tried to keep as true to the original as possible later introducing my own interpretations maintaining the original theme.... Hopefully I kept the balance right 🤘😁 🤞🤞🤞

🎙️Been listening to a lot of older dance hits lately and felt the inspiration to re-work this classic by DJ Sammy. I found a lot of inspiration from the candlelight mix in particular when tinkering on the piano so I recorded something and went from there. I Kinda held back a little bit and went for a classic vibe with a mix of chill and uplifting house beats. 🕺👩‍🎤🎶

When I worked on this I generally wanted a moody, ethereal, and melancholy vibe. I originally began with some piano improv (at the breakdown) working the rest of the orchestral melody and produced it into a house beat.

NYE Warm Up Party Goodbye 2024 (Techno Shenanigans) [31 - 12 - 24]

😶Whoahhh this popped up on my Spotify recommendation and I was instantly captured by the vocals and song-writing/melodies. I think the 3/4 waltz groove also played a big part in this piece - I was experimenting with some piano riffs (F# m) and felt the urge to give it a remix. Such a talent, and so refreshing to hear some gems in the Indie/alt genre. I embrace these moments of inspiration, especially when you can get stuck in a rut with a writers block.

👋Hello my friend, if you’re reading this I’m grateful to have your attention from a lengthy hiatus.✨ 
🎶This remix has come together in fragments between life, late nights, and sparks of inspiration. It wouldn’t have been possible without  ‪@Krull0r‬   providing me with some beautifully remastered footage. With it, I was able to paint my imagination across a haunting, surreal landscape... a place where the Nali endure suffering, death, and torture. 
It’s been a blessing to revisit the imagination of my teenage years and breathe new life into this track….(Hoping it did justice) The atmosphere, the music, the feeling of being completely immersed in a world that felt bigger than us was such an experience. I’ve emphasised the Nali as beings trapped in suffering and death... their only refuge found in ritual, prayer, and a desperate hope for salvation. 
This remix is a tribute to that haunting beauty of the perfect game that is Unreal and I hope it brings a warm nostalgia as it does for me.😌🌃💫

Alexander Brandon - Nali Chant [Dark Arena] (Gary Afterlife Remix Video edit)

I'm experimenting with different sounds based on the genre of house music. I weave house music textures with warm pads that hum like echoes from an old tape deck. A female voice softly recites a spoken word poem, tinged with romance and longing. "Pipe Dream" dives into vivid hallucinations fuelled by an overstimulated mind. When the beat drops, deep unusual chords swirl beneath the piano and violin I arranged and performed, painting a sad and mysterious soundscape. 
Cloudwalker has similar ethereal sounds with a more complex bassline compared to ‘pipe dream’.

This was a project I managed to revive from 15 years ago. I had mixed feelings Revisiting those old, tweaked settings inside the project file. Kind of haunting... like meeting a past version of myself, but also freeing. The track is ethereal and atmospheric; I concentrated on giving the mix plenty of air without overcrowding with FX. Long ago, the music came to me watching a sunrise with a friend, so surreal and beautiful, we were hallucinating wonderful things together that couldn’t last. Illusions At Sunrise (Original Mix)

✌️🎬🎶The next phase of the Unreal journey has us venturing into the flooded passages of the Chizra temple... I really enjoyed reworking the pulsing bass and flute arrangements. I focused heavily on the percussion with deep heavy tribal tones to compliment the soundscape of this haunting level from the original game. 

💭I hope y’all are doing okay... the music might bring a little calm and escape amid the chaos in this world. Maybe a nostalgic memory or two

🎃Halloween is here, and my Silent Hill Tribute is (almost) finished.
Originally, I planned to focus only on Silent Hill 2, but I got carried away revisiting some of my favorite tracks and scenes from SH3. The timing of events don’t make sense in this video as I mixed the music reel first, then built the visuals around where the sound originally guided the story.
At the end, I included the scene where heather awakes from a nightmare inside the shopping mall hance the title ‘Painting Nightmares’... this may suggest heather is having a premonition about her father’s death. Including a glimpse into the remake of silent hill 2 xD 
All music was done from the ground up starting with a few iconic samples from the original.

Remixing Koelle's track ‘Falling upwards’ Featuring Margret on vocals. I loved the warm recording of the piano in the original so I began with overdubbing some piano of my own interpretations. I also feature the Cello and Violin at the breakdowns to embody some more ideas.🎶
Koelles Synth work was perfect on its own so I weaved in these sounds like silk towards the end without changing a thing.🎼🎧
Maybe this would suit a warm afternoon on the deck with a few drinks at sundown.🌄

Koelle feat. Margret - Falling Upwards (Gary Afterlife Remix)

My First track of the year - 'Bioluminescence' is a melodic journey through a dreamscape of shimmering atmospheres, mysterious arps and mantra chants. Inspired by the film 'Avatar' and envisioning the NaVi's fantasy-world this track was created. 

The energy builds with a 303 acid style riff to replicate the darker entities such as the destruction of the forest and plucks that are constantly evolving.🌌

Bioluminescence (Original Mix)

At times we struggle to find an identity, I suppose I find myself in this position sometimes while working on my art. 
Working in the key of A-minor, an emotive melody comes to mind. Using various percussion I create a driving beat. Ambient textures are introduced, followed by a string section that consist of a Cello at the forefront.

Hmm probably the most epic themed Halloween project I've done so far. Not really hitting those jarring, dissonant horror chords however....
For all the geeks out there like me, I hope I've complemented this original classic for you :)
Given more time I would have reworked more elements from the original but I was already losing enough sleep on this one
