With this new album of unreleased remixes, JARRING EFFECTS & HIGH TONE have prepared a series of surprises mostly enjoyable : Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks Beats, Jungle !!! At the crossroads of styles but never getting locked up into any. 

This opus (CD version) starts with REVERSE ENGINEERING with the remix of « Musical Bonzeye » (with BLU RUM 13/ONE SELF) where you can feel all the biorhythmic particularity of their music (already notable on their first album «Duck&Cover». 

Follow the throbbing basses of LE PEUPLE DE L'HERBE on « Echo-logik ». INTERLOPE, as for them, offer 5 remixes including 2 versions of « Head Line », with a heavy and powerful 100bpm electro breaks beat or a furious drum'N'breaks version faithful to the live performance. 

Two versions also for "Bad Weather", one remixed by HYBRID SOUND SYSTEM who juggles with syncopated rhythms, the other by L'OEUF RAIDE in a more down tempo approach, faithful to his latest album. A medley titled "High Stone" ends the compilation. Here is the proof that when human encounters are sincere, it does show in the end! High Tone remixed with elegance.

I first listened to this CD when I was in a jazzofunk - alternative bar in the Greek island Skyros. I asked the DJ about it and eventually heard the words "Zentone" and "Hightone". It didn't take much to locate the source of this dub diamond online..

Incredibly inspirational, dark, and atmospheric music, a fabulous combination of many different elements and influences. Words really can't describe.. If you like dub and electro vibes buy it without second thought! Those of you who don't, perhaps listen to tracks 1,2,3 and 9 and you will seriously consider getting it, it's a diamond!!!!

High Tone is a dub band from Lyon, France. Formed in 1997, the band came with an emergence of the French dub music Scene, with bands like Brain Damage Sound System, Kaly Live Dub, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, Improvisators Dub or Meï Teï Shô. Formed by five members, High Tone feeds their music with various influences, such as Drum'n'bass, Ambient, Trance, Vintage Dub with artists like King Tubby or Lee "Scratch" Perry. After a few self produced vinyl EPs, the band signed at the label Jarring Effects. High Tone members are now considered major actors in the French dub scene, and are known for numerous collaborations with other artists.
