The wait is over. After seven years, Cardi B is finally back with her second album, ‘Am I The Drama?’ In this exclusive commentary, the hit-making Bronx rapper breaks down key album tracks. Cardi B announces her return on “Hello,” which samples the late Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo. The track “really makes me feel cocky,” Cardi B says. “It’s me. I’m back!” On “Pick It Up,” the record-setting superstar recruits pop singer, actor and entrepreneur Selena Gomez to join forces, describing the collaboration as “one of her favorite songs.” Elsewhere on the project, Cardi reflects on the uptempo nature of “Bodega Baddie” (“I love the speed of it, rapping fast is actually easier for me”) while “Safe,” which features Kehlani, doubles as a dedication to “my man because he makes me feel safe; he makes me feel confident.” Reflecting on reuniting with Kehlani, Cardi adds, “When I did the music video, it was so hard for me not to sing her parts.” Listen now, only on SoundCloud.
