Une Fantaisie Opus 20

I have been playing with this song for a while..  I decided to use 'found sounds' for a lot of the backing music - the photo is from a roadtrip I was lucky enough to take through Europe 3 years ago and the car sounds are variously from a holiday roaming the streets of Wellington NZ.  :-)

were the slapping of the rubber, as the cars flew down the road,
And the streetlights make a sunset, concrete’s like a castle
Kinda think I’ve been a-roving, I’ve been on the road too long

Let auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind,
I think of you an awful lot, I dream of you sometimes,
I’m driving endless highways, where no-one knows my name
Red flowers growing on the side of the road and the rain falls, just the same

I was dreaming of an ocean, bells that rang and no-one came
Cars keep rolling down that highway in the blind eternal rain,
And the echo is an emptiness I never thought to see,
Guess I’ve thrown away the everything that meant a thing to me

There’s colour in the desert now, a place I once called home,

I have again an immense pleasure to share with you another piece by my good friend Jean-Pierre Dubois (JiPé )....

The title of Senar is related to the names of Sergei and Natalia Rachmaninoff, and the art picture shows their villa which was constructed in 1929 at Hertenstein, located in the municipality of Weggis (LU) on Lake Lucerne, Switzerland.

I hope you will enjoy listening and like my interpretation of this beautiful piece...

I've always loved Leave No Man Behind by Hans Zimmer from his score for the film Black Hawk Down.  Whenever I listened to it, it was just calling out for some pipes to be added.

Its a shame that such a beautiful piece of music is associated with a war film, I'm a pacifist myself, but the idea of leaving no one behind is something that I can fully support.  

This is my little arrangement of the piece.

As the name may suggest  the theme of this album is related to the nature, people, joy and happiness. Hopefully it will make you feel good and help escaping for a few minutes from the stressful life we have nowadays.
 So may the sun rise and shine over the world.

It has some of my most expressive playing, in an improvised style, driven by feeling.
