Musar Recordings introduces a new artist into its already stellar fold with the arrival of a new EP from Tokyo-based DJ and producer, Hoshina Anniversary. Hoshina’s previous releases on labels including Volvox’s Jack Dept. have earned his support from a wide range of DJs including Laurel Halo, Lena Willikens, Young Marco and Veronica Vasicka.
Tenjin. Cheeky stabs punctuate a ravey percussion line which carries the track through the finest 7 minutes you are likely to have on a dancefloor. Weird pads sink in and out of tune alongside a drugged out set of synth chords which evoke the second summer of love. Recorded mostly as a live-jam, august 2019, « Il Sogno di Carmen » is the result of a solitary producer meeting a nomad musician. A brand new friendship. From there, the duo leads us to a spontaneous and fragile holiday story that yet manages to frame, with a sometimes mischievous accuracy, the current Genevan musical spirit : experimental, sincere, hybrid and hot.

“ I have no idea where this will lead us. But I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange. Deep into summer, most definitely. The season of torrid bodies, of slowed down movements ; where melancholy creeps in the form of light and inconstant paragraphs, italian-style. Dragged around in hedonistic reunions, spiritual vagrancies and the soothing coolness of the Rhone river, Carmen is smooth and juvenile. She loosens up. Nothing is important. It can wait. Him too, you mainly. Geneva in the tropics, Bongo Joe on the terrace, stolen emerald glances & air-conditioned airports. That’s it. A wonderful and insignifiant story.”

TYV thinks the Japanese seas are the best to find valuable treasures, take a listen to this balearicanese and tell us if he is right. Old synth lines, sweet vocals, and a marked bassline from the original track are dealing pretty well with Proti soft kick and drums programming + some new ravey synth lines high on top. We recommend this always in your case to be played on that perfect moment.
