For his second outing on Gated, the mighty Perseus Traxx expands on tracks that debuted during a live set in 2021. They were so strong we asked him to refine them so we could get them on wax.

The A-side kicks things off in typically deep bass-led style, with the acidic breaky Sheet 96, followed by the title track In the Shadow of Birkby Fell, which takes things a tad tougher.

Flipping to the B, Ancestral Technologies kicks out the most up-tempo of the four tracks, while The Edge of Time closes the EP with a warped, lo-fi groover for the early hours that brings back a touch of the breaks.

Organic Analogue makes it to double figures with a sublime new split EP from HVL and Gacha Bakradze. The A-side is opened up with 'Infinitesimal', a stripped back and icy bit of minimal dub techno, then 'AgneffC01' gets more rhythmically physical with scattered beats and hits and 'Collective Genius' is tense, kinetic techno with a real sense of paranoia. 'Routes' is the first B-side joint with Gacha Bakradze bringing some direct but economical drum machine grooves under meticulous percussion and then 'Chain' layers smeared cosmic pads with twitchy details and 'Widow' ends with a heavy heart. No wonder, then, that a host of eminent DJs like Ben UFO are all over it.

Hiya! I've just uploaded the recording of my set at Anunnaki's Club from last April. I've split it into two parts because, I'm not going to lie, there are major mistakes in the bridge between the two that would ruin the flow of the listening experience, so I thought it was better to simply erase that small section.

In the first part, I go more synthy, wavey, avant-garde, kraut, and post-punk, whereas the second part is all things cosmic in the shape of disco, new beat, balearic, etc.

I believe the spirit and energy I wanted to convey are present anyway, so I hope you folks enjoy it.

"DJ Fitz (SVQ), electronic music enthusiast, specialized in Electro, Breaks and some 4x4 beats. Lover of the vinyl format, he begins to take seriously the record collection in 2010, until today. Videographer of his own sets, with the intention of showing good music and the evolution of his skills behind the mixer; proof of this is in his YouTube channel where he hosts videosets of different genres varying the DJ setup.

Interested in analog production and flirting with synthesizer machines,
in May 2024 is published his first song in the compilation "Bass Andalus" of Urban Connection label.

As the Summer draws in, the music keeps flowing here at WE FORFEIT. For June, we have a label we love. We have @gatedrecordings. Founded in 2019 by Dj @node and Jadey Smith, Gated has become an imprint of serious intent in the world of electronic music. 

This month, we’ve been lucky enough to speak with one the bosses of Gated, Node, about the imprint and what makes him tick. In a conversation that reveals all, and then some, we go back through the Gated catalogue and pick out some personal favourties from artists like Sound Synthesis, The Jaffa Kid and Dip Shim

In the second hour, Node takes the helm with a mix of serious proportions with gems from acid, breakbeat, electro and loads more. Expect unreleased material as well as tracks from Acidulant, Cityman Productions,  and Wave Function.
