For his second outing on Gated, the mighty Perseus Traxx expands on tracks that debuted during a live set in 2021. They were so strong we asked him to refine them so we could get them on wax.

The A-side kicks things off in typically deep bass-led style, with the acidic breaky Sheet 96, followed by the title track In the Shadow of Birkby Fell, which takes things a tad tougher.

Flipping to the B, Ancestral Technologies kicks out the most up-tempo of the four tracks, while The Edge of Time closes the EP with a warped, lo-fi groover for the early hours that brings back a touch of the breaks.

One year after the first Melantónia show on Fango Radio and a few months after his appearance on MEL001, Marco Ragni is back to celebrate our collaboration with an incredible mix of chilling music.
As one half of the Plants Army Revolver duo, part of our collective, resident at Melantónia and Italian club Serendipity, Marco Ragni is a collector and maniacal hunter of classy and rare records.
The palette of his contribution for the show ranges from ambient to downtempo, passing trough dub and ethnic territories, shaping the sound influences of the „Melantónia x Fango Radio“ series with this intriguing journey.

Melantónia x Fango Radio - Marco Ragni

This is a dedication to the dutch Transhumanism collective and especially to Wibo Lammerts, who tragically passed away this summer.

There’s:

Slaves of Sinus … who has developed his own awesome and special style like nobody else..
RXMode…his music always hits you directly in the face and if not, opens a hell of an atmosphere..
TFHats…his 242ish vocals beside great compositions I like so much because I always feel home listening to them..

Since I started again producing in 2020, Wibo has been a constant source of kindness and honesty at the same time. He liked the melody of Cosmodrome and got me back on my producers feet in no time with his constructive feedback and inspiration. Even after that, he regularly checked on me if i have new stuff, how my tracks are going along and our conversations soon went past being just about music.

He once told me that there is a dutch saying which roughly translated means that whoever gives good will meet good and that he lives by that. I think this is the best description for him.

Rest in peace, mate....

I basically threw all my files from Wibo and my transhumanism tracks into one playlist, sorted it after bpm and gave it a shot...roughly 3 hours later, I was really happy about the flow and decided to publish.
There may be one or two track repeats...really should have cleaned the setlist before getting into it but couldn't wait to drop those bomb objects…

Veelargo is a Spanish producer based in Krakow, Poland. His influences are very eclectic and come from many genres. The sound of artists such as Plaid, Orbital, Autechre, Aphex Twin, FSOL, Roel Funcken, Tangerine Dream, Joy Division, Depeche Mode or Oscar Mulero among many others have been a constant inspiration.
