For his second outing on Gated, the mighty Perseus Traxx expands on tracks that debuted during a live set in 2021. They were so strong we asked him to refine them so we could get them on wax.

The A-side kicks things off in typically deep bass-led style, with the acidic breaky Sheet 96, followed by the title track In the Shadow of Birkby Fell, which takes things a tad tougher.

Flipping to the B, Ancestral Technologies kicks out the most up-tempo of the four tracks, while The Edge of Time closes the EP with a warped, lo-fi groover for the early hours that brings back a touch of the breaks.

Mayss did not have much to say and I’m still redacting my graduation ceremony speech that took place two weeks ago thus I’ll keep it short. Mayss has a big heart and I like crossing her in the streets cuz she radiates hope despite we both living in a city where dreams come to die lol. So if in 2022 Mayss still finds love and inspiration in the art then i'll act accordingly and continue to find  love and inspiration in the arts. Other than that it is a pretty dope mix; listened  to it on repeat while re-potting the tomatoes in the garden; I do hope  they felt the cosmic frequencies of the mix while I handled them and they’ll thrive and become stallion tomatoes cuz I already invited her over to taste the harvest in 8-to-10 weeks. Today it’s also summer solstice and indigenous day so tune-in to the mix an honour ur place in the universe I’d say.

People need to stop being so ugly to each other. So what? You can hear someone; but were you  listening? Can you have a conversation or having you gotten too comfortable with ins and out? What has you so consumed that you cannot take time out to be alone with yourself? It becomes easier to be yourself when you know your self. Those who know self are sovereign beings. They cannot be bound or shackled through the mind, body or soul. 

You see, when you know your self, there is no fear. When you are present, you dwell within your own energy and you begin to operate from within that energy. As you become more aware and sensitive with self, barriers are removed and you become sovereign. Respect nods to respect and disdains ignorance. Learn everyday something new about the world all around you. Come undone. Be up, be brave and be kind. Life is too short to be so consumed by any one thing. 

The next time you are in public, say this to yourself: America has a strong culture of diversity. There are like minded people and there are some whom you may not agree with. Learn how to agree to disagree. It takes a soulless person to kill someone in an instant and have no remorse, no empathy-someone who is lifeless and cold. 

I have never lost a friend or dismissed anyone simply because of politics. At the end of the day, we are ALL Americans. To kill your own fellow citizen in the name of politics, propaganda and lies is beneath us. A low down dirty shame and ill advised. Are you so much of a stranger to yourself that you have become someone else? How can one judge others when one doesn't even know thyself?

We the people of this nation declare this our house and that which is American society; the worker, the mover and the shaker no longer tolerates the assassin or the ideation of such nonsense, a kin to the thief, the breach, the chaos agent and the liar -- harming others for personal gain is beneath us -- rise or fall, do not manipulate, propagate or come to us with more than one face -- those who did and do the work; to know, to love and to draw the line to rise!  

This age shall be a golden brown and bright yellow-blue at sunrise and bright yellow-orange at sunset; shall we arise in UNITY, sovereign individual, blessed we shall be, many of us like minded and as diverse as the universe; now free of all entanglements; we cannot be kept from rising anymore; we kicked down the door, we must unite more than ever before!

Wars and killing are barbaric and uncivilized. We must agree to disagree and listen as much as we talk. I believe the universe has every intention of keeping us from destroying each other.
