Veryl East is a DJ based in Zurich, Switzerland. He plays fast but subtle trance, drawing inspiration from the contemporary Scandinavian scene and past Parisian nights alike. He is a prolific mixer and has previously recorded podcasts for HRA Berlin, Harmless Records (Dublin), AÜRA (Paris), Kapitel Bollwerk (Bern), Aura Trax (Seattle) and more. He also curates a mix series himself, together with a collective in Zurich.

About the mix:
“It seems that many of my favourite trance DJs have a habit of releasing ambient productions from time to time. This mix features some of them. The idea is to have all the emotional facets of trance but, for a change, without the usual percussion. The mix begins and ends with two different ambient reworks of the same 1996 trance classic – Olive’s ‘You’re not alone’.”

I've been behind the decks for round about three years now, and I thrive on the freedom of not being tied to a single genre. My sets are all about exploring and blending different sounds, unified by one key element: sick, rolling basslines and a psy-influenced vibe that keeps the energy flowing. My journey into electronic music started early—my first touchpoint was listening to my mother’s old trance CDs, which sparked my fascination with hypnotic sounds. Over time, I developed a deep love for electronic music, especially tracks that transport you, helping you forget the chaos of everyday life. My inspiration comes from this very idea: creating a dreamy, immersive sound that allows both me and my listeners to escape and get lost in the music, even if just for a little while.
