I'm now satisfied, and happy overall with this liquid drum & bass song.

I started this idea during lockdown, and soon progressed it into a full track.

Fantail's Lap

Made this ambient track from the Fantail's Lap melody.

Reason why Fantail's Lap is called this, is because a fantail flew around my room (1 lap)while I was making the song, my cat didn't even jump or attempt to attack it hehe.

Guess it's just a droplet of lofi.

Learned about the harmonic series, created the bass line.
Learned about feeding light sine wave melodies into Guitar Rig, or cabinets.
Created a "foley" drum loop.

It was meant for a collab with EstaticJack, guess I used 3rd party plugins not native to FL Studio, so it'd be time consuming to rewrite it. /me a bit lazy

Sorry, check his music out, he's really into progressive house, mint as vibes yo! Big ups Jack, he provided me the original chord structure as well for this tune.

Background:

I started this project as a sort of challenge. I had just released my first sample pack, and wanted to use only (or mostly rather) sounds from it.

The exclusion to this, is it's using a break from DLR. Which is mainly a kick and snare, but also has some ghost drums. It was quite fun analyzing it. I learned that if you slow down a break beat, which is of good quality, it's quite easy to tell what individual drum hits are within the break, and the duration of section part of a hit.
