el 18 de enero de 1912, Robert Falcon Scott alcanza el Polo Sur.

Scott era un marino explorador, que capitaneó dos expediciones a la Antártida. En la primera descubrió una zona importante del continente, conocida como Mar de Ross y en la segunda concretó la tan ansiada llegada al Polo... pero en este caso con algunos matices poco felices:

Scott elavoró la gran expedición con la idea de ser el primer humano "civilizado" en llegar al polo. Contaba con el apoyo del Gobierno inglés y una respetada fama popular. Después de años de planes, y muchos meses de viaje y esfuerzos para llevar adelante su objetivo, Scott y sus cuatro compañeros llegan al Polo, pero se encuentran con una desagradable sorpresa:
Roald Amundsen, un expedicionario Noruego con el que había tenido muchas discusiones y lo consideraba casi un rival, había llegado un mes antes.

Para colmo de males, Scott y su equipo, fallecen en el viaje de vuelta a causa de las tremendas inclemencias meteorológicas, que sus cuerpos exhaustos y mal alimentados no pudieron soportar.

Hoy en día, Robert Falcon Scott sigue siendo considerado uno de los héroes ingleses del siglo XX, no sabemos bien, si por su valentía, por su mala suerte o por sus errores en la planificación, que no solo lo mataron a él sino también a sus cuatro tripulantes... sea como sea, recordamos sus ganas de Sur profundo, escuchando una gran perla del dúo ingles Layo & Bushwacka (grabada en las primeras horas del presente milenio):

20 years in the game and Zurich’s Kalabrese continues to produce timeless music, with his ever-distinctive vocals and rumbling beats, informed by the school of minimal and nodding heavily to organic funk rhythms and song-oriented structures.

As Kalabrese is busy working on an upcoming album, he deals with everyday occurrences which he reflects on and reinterprets. This led him to make a detour by Zukunft Recordings with "Let Me Be Your Princess" a three track EP with a 10 minute low-key funk groover of a title track, which he says "became a mirror of life".

Phenomenal Handclap Band is back on Toy Tonics with remixes by Superpitcher & Ray Mang! The New York indie disco crew delivers their third song to the Berlin dancefloor label. Their last 2 Toy Tonics singles, "Judge Not" and "Jail", have already made big waves with heavy rotations in the sets of people like DJ Harvey, Artwork, Gilles Peterson, Keinemusik and many others. Now they are back with another surefire smash: "Remain Silent".
The Phenomenal Handclap Band from New York has been known for a couple of funk-driven releases before, but also for supporting or collaborating with such giants as Bryan Ferry, Marcos Valle and Nile Rodgers & Chic. 
The band, based around multi instrumentalist and producer Daniel Collás, is releasing their new single in advance of a new album on Toy Tonics in 2020. This is just a warm up!

Jazzy Tourism is the first work that establish Apparel Music in the electronic music market. Apparel seeks to combine differents hemispheres, trying to impress on vinyl every mood and emotion. Every song is built for narrow audience, mental, impatient, just like jazz, get something of magical on the dance floor. The original mixes offers a simple way to structure and pushing the batteries, deep bass, funny reasons to open the way for jazzy. Kisk is a good media between sound and audience; working properly jazz samples , as if this was made for his own style.
