I had this idea of making a Liquid Drum n' Bass track with a basic jazz chord progression and natural-ish instruments and the result is indeed very jazzy dare I say.... Festive ?!
Music is ultimately about having fun !

A different flavor of Drum & Bass for my first release of the year, a dark ominous and heavy roller for late nights at the bush rave.
Super stoked with how my mixing skills are progressing and how loud I was able to make this tune. Let me know what you think !

Exploration

DNB is where my heart resides now, I especially love the epic Dancefloor anthems from Delta Heavy, Metrik, Matrix & Futurebound and the likes, but I also used to(and still do too) love Future Bass especially when snowboarding. 
This is the result of those 2 ideas colliding, I hope you enjoy it !

Gautz Hour Episode 4 Liquid/Dancefloor

Hey hey I'm back ! The execution could've been better but it's a good selection of the kind of high energy tune I love to play and I'm aspiring to make.
Gautzclusive this week was Maelstrom-Sigjir but this time the Spes Invicta Remix which I followed with more groovy gnarly Mid Tempo ! 
I've had the Bad Ludes song for a long time but hadn't played it in a while and realized as I was dropping it that it samples the same silly Quaaludes video as my Quaaludes song ! 
It's available now on all streaming services as part of the Maelstrom EP which has the original, this tune, my remix and a 120 VIP !

Challenged myself to make a track using only sounds from a sample pack, in this case Stranjah. Love this kind of vibe, industrial, very wide and spacey, kind of like the soundtrack to exploring abandonned buildings.

Alex "Gautz"(pronounced goats) Gauthier grew up in the humble little Québec town of Rouyn-Noranda, in a tiny but vibrant community of Death Metal bands and shows. His passion for playing electric guitar, composition and video game music lead him to leave home at  17 and pursue higher music education at college and then university but he never found his true vocation and got burned out, dropped out and left it all behind. Until he moved to BC where he discovered bass music, music & arts festivals and sound system culture.
His passion for music now renewed, he learned to DJ and started producing music again focusing on  Drum & Bass.
Having now established his homebase studio in Kelowna, he's been hard at work releasing lots of music and making a name for himself in the North American DnB scene.
