Leapah - Ground (Reprise)

My first album, Balance, is an instrumental expression of energy, the elements, and their manifestation in the body. It explores my influences in electronic music, jazz and math/post rock.

The title track here explores cycles, layers and development of a constant theme.

Leapah - Balance

Agni is both Sanskrit for "fire" and the name of the Hindu god of fire. In this song, Reuben and I explore our prog influences as well as two sides of fire: one sunny, hot and bright, and one destructive, mysterious and dark.

Ground is the first track for my album Balance. It's meant to conjure a place of sanctuary that extra special people and pieces of art take me to.

I worked together with Couleurs on this one to mix a dreamy ambient soundscape with post-rock style clean guitar riffs.

In this fourth incarnation of my song "Ground", I arranged it for guitar and string quartet. This was one of the first arrangements I made inspired by contemporary Japanese composers like Hisaishi and Sakamoto.
