Theme for the Vampire, Nighren. 

"Being from a time of the first era, Nighren is an elderly vampire whom have thrived and indulged in nearly everything life could truly offer. He is an honorable man, and he values loyalty greater than anything else. He has a loving daughter, a loving wife, and a most honored friends and allies.

Nighren has however, sought away from the ordinary life for quite a while, and with time he has joined the infamous Dark Brotherhood, but it was not before he too, made a name for himself as the "Dreadheart", a monster who have terrorized the commoners of Tamriel, or so it is belived.

In truth, Nighren has only committed his vile horrors upon those he deemed it deserving, which would be anyone, that would seek either himself harm, or any of his kindred. He would never commit horrors upon anyone with reason, but neither would he seek away from committing the most horrible of crimes against his enemies."

Waltzing with Dragons - Concert Band, Grade 2

"The Battlemage" is a concert band work themed around the mythical warrior of legend who wields both magical spells and swords. The composer incorporates this dichotomy of soldier and scholar throughout the fabric of the music itself. The piece begins with an aggressive battle chant, accented by toms and brake drum. Near the middle of "The Battlemage", the music shifts gears and reflects the more mystical nature of this magical warrior while maintaining its constant driving pulse. As the piece builds towards the end, the harmonies thicken and become more lush giving it a climatic cinematic sound. This captivating work concludes with a rousing full band statement of the battle chant that is sure to thrill both your students and audience.
