The Set Up

Translate the symbolic image that encloses the decorations with the chosen pigments into sound and vibrational variations, tonal, timbre, dynamic and rhythmic representations.

The sound material thus obtained becomes the pulsation that goes to stress the static image by reconstructing its underlying voice, in an evolutionary development that visually re-proposes the possible variables contained in the decoration of the fabric. The result is audiovisual animations of one and a half minutes that will be listened to and projected contextually and in succession to the physical presentations of the project. Each fabric worn on the catwalk takes on a double "vestment", a double reading: on the one hand the substance of the matter, on the other a metaphysical, dreamy and subliminal transverse alter ego.

In which Wario travels through the sewers beneath Crescent Moon Village, finding that a miniature village of its own has blossomed.

Super special thanks to aubreth, who created an instrumental for Buttercup (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPjrmzAawu4). They were such a baller that they included the .flp, which was vital for completing this project as soon as I had. Especially helpful since the original song mp3 was included with the .zip folder. I mean, I already had one, but it was in a convenient space with this one, so. 

Anyway. I transcribed all the mp3's for the guitar solos that aubreth had recorded. After all that was done I moved on to using the original mp3 as my reference. That inadvertently brought me to the revelation that there were some inaccuracies (read: artistic liberties) which needed to be corrected if I were to make my accurate Waa Land 4 cover. So, I corrected the chords, which was a real bitch in some places by the way, and ADDED some chords too. THEN I also had to fix up the solos somewhat. 

From there, I did a fuckton of adjustments to pretty much every channel besides the bass and drums, like correcting the plink-plink channel and the Square Wave, making additions as they became necessary (like finishing up the section associated with "solo3", adding in that one sawtooth sound via adding a 63,2 channel, and not to mention all the sound effects). After all that was done, I finally started in on the lyrics section, which ended up being really intensive but the results were quite satisfying. Really happy with the glissandos and stuff, for example.

Once I was happy with what would become this mp3, I started in on realizing my inspired thumbnail idea. I took the original album art, then compared the size of it with the WL4 painting size (1200x1200 and 56x56 respectively), then I edited the thing for the big image, so it was 1176x1176, the closest neighboring number to 1200 that was a multiple of 56. 
After that, I edited it so it was just the circle's color for the BG and got rid of most of the circle's outline so that the painting wouldn't be cluttered. Then I used transparent selection to paste in a green-screen edit of the WL4 painting and frame it. 
From there, I spent a long-ass time painting all the keys (and the chicken bone) lime green, and got rid of all the big letters because I couldn't make it look good. ...Which kind of makes it *more* WL4-accurate, because none of the paintings have words.

All in all, I put a lot of heart and soul into this project, but like I've spent enough time working on it to be halfway tired of it, so if you enjoy/enjoyed this track, pLEASe let me know, I could really use it.
