Native New Yorker, John Yienger lands on Major Records’ first release of 2024 with a track that stylishly balances our love of old rave nostalgia and fresh, propulsive modern house music. “Think For Yourself” will bring any dancefloor to new heights with pure energy and excitement from the very first beat. 

Paired with it, Sekucci delivers a stripped-down, darker, and psychedelic remix of Yienger’s single that creeps up on you until you realize you are deep inside a complex and self-propelling groove. With eerie beauty matching breathless sweat, this release has left us wanting to hear more from both of these exciting talents.

This set starts with a message from Archie Burnett (@/demoncar007 on IG), a mentor to many dancers around the world and narrator/co-producer of the iconic documentary, “Check Your Body at the Door,”. The documentary showcases the lives and culture of club dancers in New York through the 90s. Made to Move (IG - @/madetomovela), my party @/bodyhigh.lgr, and @/coloredcraigcommunity collaborated on a screening event for this documentary in December. 

For this show I wanted to record many of the tracks I played from our party that night, which was dedicated to the dancers — for the ones that paved the way, and for the ones we make room for today. Accordingly, this set features classic NY and deep house, as well as some of my favorite Detroit cuts.

Montreal-born Haitian-Canadian artist based in Amsterdam. Making jazzy-house with Brazilian spices so you can make out with your crush. Highly influenced by the beat scene of 2007-2018 and the broken break / bruk movement in West London. She release her debut LP ''Mascarade'' on Rhythm Section INL and was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize. 

Gayance (real name Aïsha Vertus) takes her alias from the Haitian creole word for joyfulness. Born / raised in Montreal, 1st generation Haitian descent she’s been DJing since the past decade and has been tearing down Dekmantel, Lowlands Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, POP Montreal, HORST Festival, Maracujalia Festival and Milkshake Festival. Places like Panorama Bar, Djoon, Doka Amsterdam, C12 and Jazz Cafe London just to name these few.
