Gaya Yona is a Tel Aviv based indie singer/songwriter who weaves the delicate seam between dreamy pop-folk and alternative rock. Gaya describes her music as a kind of 'Kintsugi', in which instead of covering up the fractures (and aches) they are painted and re-constructed using gold.

In the last couple of years, Gaya has gone through many musical reincarnations. Her musical life started when she stumbled upon an old notebook which belonged to her mother’s late husband, who wrote poems. Gaya then decided to compose some of his lyrics. “I felt as if I suddenly received another mouth, through which I could express myself, another set of eyes to see with“.
Since then, Gaya performed as a part of a musical duo, served as a live guitar player & backing vocalist for leading Israeli artists, and as a solo artist, played her music on various stages across Israel and Canada. She eventually recorded an E.P but then decided to shelve it in an attempt to refine her unique and ethereal sound.
 
In 2022 Gaya is expected to release her full-length debut album ‘Currently, Forever’, which was inspired by artists such as Laura Marling, Phoebe Bridgers, Radiohead and more.
While mixing and moving from sweet to bitter, dissonance and harmony, the album reflects on the aftermath of a breakup and the grieving process that is tied to it.
