I'm joined by Erin Murphy and Amy Swearer to discuss our Second Amendment rights and the current attacks on our rights. Do so-called gun control regulations have a greater impact on a woman's right to self-defense?

Erin Murphy is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice focuses on Supreme Court, appellate, and constitutional litigation. She has argued before both the Supreme Court and most of the federal courts of appeals on a wide variety of issues, including the scope of the First Amendment, the Takings Clause, the Federal Power Act, the Appointments Clause, and the National Labor Relations Act. Erin has also argued several appeals defending Second Amendment rights, including the appeal that produced the opinion the Supreme Court granted certiorari to review in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York.  Erin has been recognized by the National Law Journal as one of the nation’s “Outstanding Women Lawyers” and a “Rising Star” and has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of the nation’s top appellate lawyers.

I was very intrigued by a missing person case he has gotten involved with that I had never heard of before, and then finding out about how many missing people there are in the United States. According to the National Association of Missing Persons (https://www.namus.gov/), about 600,000 people go missing every year, with about 70% to 80% of them being female. That number is more than the 55,000 US soldiers killed during the Vietnam War.

Missing Person Case: Maura Murray

My guest on RIGHT IN DC is Grant Haber, one of America's foremost experts on IEDS (improvised explosive devices) and HME's (homemade explosives). He has spent his life in the field creating detection innovations that help save the lives of American troops and foreign troops throughout the world fighting for freedom. 

Haber has been involved with explosives detection, blast mitigation, and bomb containment technologies since 1998, and serving the law enforcement/ first responder community since 1995. The threat from Iran to our homeland is not new. In 2011, Iran plotted to commit a terrorist bombing attack to kill an ambassador at a high-end restaurant in Washington, DC where many politicians and celebrities dine. Fortunately the plot was thwarted, but former Defense Secretary Gen. Mattis considered it an act of war on American soil. Democrats, Media and Hollywood's double standard treatment of Christine Ford versus Tara Reade

Will the Senate Judiciary Committee do anything to stop the political weaponization of our federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies? Yesterday the Committee delayed an important vote on subpoenas for fifty people involved in the Russian Collusion Hoax. Senator Graham promised on Martha MacCallum’s Fox News show last night that the Committee will hold the vote next Thursday, and the Committee will push forward with their investigation. Do you think this is Lucy playing football with Charlie Brown, or will there be accountability and reform?

I am hopeful that the committee will end up voting for the subpoenas, despite the typical wobbliness of Republican politicians who talk big on the campaign trail and then forget their promises once they are in Washington. Cultural Revolution, Trump and Mount Rushmore

President Trump commuted the criminal sentence of long-time friend and supporter Roger Stone last week.  Many Americans believed this commutation was long overdue since the prosecution of Roger Stone was politically motivated and based on the thinnest of gruel. In the end, Roger Stone was convicted of seven process crimes, and no American was ever charged with or convicted of colluding with Russia to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.  You would think that justice having been served, this presidential action would become a historical footnote, but instead, it is the latest weapon of the left to try to take down President Trump, remove him from office, and regain power.  I will tell you why.

Roger Stone, Trump and the Legal Left

Bad ideas from Virginia are headed to Congress.  We witnessed a take over of power of the Virginia state government by Democrats, and the Democrat legislators hastily passed sweeping gun restrictions. Democrat Governor Northam signed the laws and the laws became effective this July.  

The Virginia Democrats are not stopping there.  Virginia Senators Time Kaine and Mark Warner are taking those ideas to Washington, trying to get bad laws from Virginia transformed into nationwide laws.  

We have also seen this term that most of the Supreme Court justices are unwilling to take up the protection of civil rights under the Second Amendment of our Constitution.

When these laws are not stopped at the local level, they become blueprints for the gun-grabbing Democrat politicians to roll them out at the national level.  The Supreme Court is not going to rescue us from these bad laws.

You can understand why over twenty thousand Virginians gathered in Richmond in January of this year as the Virginia legislators considered these gun-grabbing bills.  They peacefully protested not only for their civil rights, but also for the civil rights of all Americans.  They understood that an attack on the liberty of one law-abiding American is an attack on the liberty of all Americans.

Recap of Day 3 of the Republican National Convention

The Republican National Convention exceeded all expectations and was a resounding success. It clearly showed how President Trump and the Republicans want to build things up in stark contrast to the Democrat's and their radical Marxist agenda wanting to tear things down. That was shown last night with powerful, moving speeches and testimonies ending with President Trump's acceptance speech at the White House, while outside the White House, mobs violently attacked those who attended, including Senator Rand Paul and former Democrat Brandon Straka.
