This is the last performance I did with Shawn Lane. It was recorded live to DAT at Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA in February '93. This is off the "Powers Of Ten Live" album featuring myself on drums, Todd Bobo on sax, Doug Scarborough on keys, and Barry Bays on bass. We were part of some small rock festival that day and I remember a band similar to the B52's went on after our set. I played every show as if it were my last and I believe I did on this one at the age of 22. It was a nice sunny afternoon at the end of our show and we went to a 50's themed diner afterward. I remember it like yesterday almost exactly 20 years ago. I had a habit of giving blank DATs to the house engineers and asking them to record the shows. This tape was eaten by my DAT player months after the show but I made a TDK SAX-90 cassette copy of the DAT which I left blank at my Uncle Joey's place in Washington DC. I flew to DC and instantly recognized the blank TDK cassette sitting in the white basket of tapes where I left it for almost a year. I transfered it back to DAT and mailed a CD copy to Shawn in Memphis years later. He added Todd Bobo's sax, bass overdubs and a little background guitars. It was mixed and mastered and VOILA!!!!!!! The album "Powers Of Ten Live" was produced and distributed.

Thanks again and always to Hitoshi Yasui of chairhouse for his daily musical offerings and for helping us to adapt this lovely song based on his piano improv of February 28, 2020. It is another song from his epic "Piano Ten Thousand Leaves" project. The guitar arrangement is by naldo and the beautiful orchestration is again written by Berkeley composer Guillaume Pearson. We hope you enjoy it and as Hitoshi often writes "Happy if this makes you feel peaceful".
