Gr-oy - Animal Instinct Ep (Eyepatch Recordings)

Gr-oy aka Gregory Calay returns to Eyepatch with more explosive tech sounds. 

Following previous successes Gregory combines his love of music with his love for computers and what we get is the lovechild of that encounter. 

Animal Instincts is a great pack with some awesome remixes. 

The original kicks us off with something most of us will remember, it starts as if it was a piece of vinyl on a platter, that distinct crackling sound, the track fades in from low volume and when and kicks like a mule with some darker tech sounds. 

Model 1975 remix uses much of the original sound but adds a lighter approach, very nice sharper sounds and still keeping with the vocal sample. 

Kentaro Kaji uses his skills and adds more tech to this track further enhances its status, sharp edged crisp sounds with a raw feel puts this high up on the list of great tech sounds.

Ariane Blank completely transforms the groove here, more on the upbeat side using a funky muffled wah wah sound which filters in and out creating a very very cool rhythm. 

Yet again Eyepatch have let leash!

'Gr-oy', born in Belgium and partly raised in Germany, is motivated by music and greatly interested in computer programs.
No wonder then that he quickly decided to put these two things together and electronic music became his real passion.
In early 2000’s Grégory started producing electronic music using Reason and Fruity Loops but then life intervened.
After a very long break, he seriously restarted his own productions in 2009 and this time using Ableton Live, VSTs, Plug-ins and many others.
His style can be defined as a mix between deep techno/house and dark down tempo.
As his major influences he lists artists and labels such as Thinner, Basic Channel, Swayzak, Ellen Allien, Sascha Funke, Luke Vibert, Kompakt, Dessous Recordings, Warp, Massive Attack,...
