This 30 minute montage combines clips from old favourites and new discoveries from many countries, intercut with spoken word accounts of some of the issues the digital composer tries to work through. Ends with a short selection of some of my older compositions in the digital studio, using now-classic 1990s modules like the M-SE1 and the Proteus 2000.

 Italian-born, Australian-raised, and once-resident of Canada and Mexico, pianist Grace Quaglio returned to Australia in 2011. She specializes in the interpretation, recording and commissioning of new and contemporary musical repertoire for solo/multiple piano/s, harpsichord, keyboards and mixed ensemble, including presentations with electronics and other interactive multimedia. As soloist and ensemble performer, she has received invitations and participated in various new music festivals and events such as the Gaudeamus International Contemporary Music Festival, Rotterdam, the International Twentieth-Century Piano Festival in Zitges, Barcelona, the Nova Scotia Festival of Music, Halifax, the Brandon Festival of New Music, the Vancouver New Music ‘Drumheat’ Piano & Percussion Series, and the Foro Internacional de Musica Nueva, Mexico City. She has been broadcast on Australian (A.B.C.), Canadian (C.B.C.) and Mexican national radio networks, as well as having completed several artist-in-residence sessions at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada. As an Australian Commonwealth Scholar and the recipient of other scholarships and awards, Grace completed her postgraduate studies in 1995 and holds a doctorate from the Université de Montréal, Québec, for her research in “aural perception in contemporary musical language” through the works of Gyorgy Ligeti. As instructor she has worked at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, the Université de Montréal, and as guest lecturer in various other colleges, universities and conservatoriums. Her seminars, conferences, workshops and master classes, cover a broad range of twentieth and twenty-first century topics, with focuses on performance, pedagogy, analysis and musicological criticism. 
Grace has more recently debuted with Mexico’s contemporary music ensemble SequenzaSUR in Mérida and Mexico City, and was invited to participate in the Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatan (ESAY) as guest lecturer and graduating student advisor. She is currently developing a Contemporary Arts Studies Programme for tertiary level application, and continuing her post-doctoral research in ‘temporal perception’. Grace is presently a casual lecturer in a joint Central Queensland University and Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE venture, through their School of Creative and Performing Arts, Noosa campus.
