ジャンガリアンハムスター(パールホワイト)のオス、プリが旅立ちました。
約1年9ヶ月の生涯でした。
姿を思い出すとなぜかこのメロディが自然とBGMとして浮かんできたので、MIDIに書き起こして共に供養します。


動物が大好きな彼女にプレゼントとしてホームセンターで購入しました。
喜んでもらえた一方、自分はというと、可愛らしさは感じつつも言葉がわからない動物としてどこか一線を引いていました。
噛まれると結構痛いので、触ることもあまりせず餌をあげるか遠くから見守るくらいでした。
面倒を見るのも基本的に彼女の方で、自分はおやつをあげたり水交換したくらいです。
なのでプリが旅立っても、泣いて悲しむような資格は自分には無いと思っています。

でもここまで胸が苦しくなるくらい悲しさと喪失感が込み上げてくるのは、プリの生まれ持った力強い魅力によって動物と人間以上の繋がりを得ることができたからです。
ペットとして距離を取っていたのがいつの間にか、生活に無くてはならない存在になっていました。これは初めての経験で、プリからは沢山のものを受け取りました。
もっと触れ合っておけばよかった、遊んであげればよかったと思っています。
失って気づく後悔もありますが、今はそれ以上にこの小さい生命に感謝して見送ってあげたいと思います。
