This instrumental is inspired to the sound of the eighties. I kept the electric bass quite high in the mix, adding some chorus effect over 200Hz to enhance the sound of the string.
I used several tracks of Strat to create the main texture of the composition, using arpeggios and strummed parts through chorus and delay.
The drums are programmed and based on the Downbeat Kit available for AKAI MPC here: https://www.mpc-samples.com/product.php/291/the-downbeat-kit/. 
The drum samples are organized in round robin groups to give a natural feel to the drums part.

I constructed this track and I asked Annie if she felt inspired to put any words to it. she said "yes, defo, if her dream fairies come through with them." And they did ... seems they couldn't wait... which was great ... except that it was at four o'clock this morning!

Here's what came through:

I thought at first it was a dream, just a childhood fantasy that had grown and grown.
But over the years, I realised .... it was real, it was my loved ones singing me home.

When the day is dark, and the night is long...in the still, small hours I hear their song.
The road less travelled can be full of stones, but their song makes the journey seem not so long.
When I meet the devil, at the crossing, and I have to choose right, from wrong,

In the last weeks DMs swept in from assumed new fans, praising one's musical talent in glowing words and phrases. A few "innocent" Thank-yous later their promo sales machines got fired. I admit: I had some fun in detecting their innocence in marketing and expose their poor strategies (often seemingly right out of some obscure how-to "handbook"). All gave up after a while, some disappointed or disillusioned, some just irritated and deprived of valid arguments. Poor souls sometimes ... 
Anyway, I took some ot the opening sentences from those advancements and a few claims et voilá: lyrics were written. SUNO took care of the musical presentation, which I polished a bit more with adding drums, organ and mixing.

The things you have to do as an average person and in the end all that's left is routine and normal life.

This is the principal soundcloud channel for original one-man music by gd&themultitracks.  Mainly instrumental, the music was home-recorded in stroud, england using hardware synths & instruments and Audacity community software for editing and mixing the individual multitracks.  I've had great enjoyment in making (& listening to!) the music, but any plays or feedback would be much appreciated. 
The music spans a wide range of sounds & genre.  I've put a selection of tracks into playlists which cover much of the music:  rock, melodic rock, soft guitar, ambient, electronica, soundtrack, jazz & blues..
