"A selection of records I have been digging in the North of France and Paris for the last months. The mix is influenced by my move last year from Tokyo (Japan) to Roubaix (France). Excited to share these sounds that have been entering my life lately: French and different oriental influenced folk and jazz with often medieval structure elements or instruments. Also one Egyptian and one Japanese record. This collection of tracks has been also inspired by my nomadic like lifestyle lately, travelling a lot, always on the move and encountering talented, raw, honest and inspiring people along the way."

Afro disco series African Shaketown is back with four outstanding remixes and edits of ultra rare gems that without a doubt will make your summer move.
 
David Benjamin (Noema, Magic Jams) is a DJ, producer, guitarist, and label head from Berlin. You may remember Noema's legendary tribute edit of Ata Kak's ‘Daa Nyinaa’ and the wicked re-rubs of Eddie C, Axel Boman and Soft Rocks. He has released and worked with Apparat, Dj Dixon, and Basement Jaxx as well as underground heroes Lauer, Kalabrese, Shubostar, O/Y, Acid Pauli, Auntie Flo, Dreems, Khidja, Panthera Krause and Mehmet Aslan.  Over 25 years of DJing, he has mastered the ones and twos refining his craft during his 10-year residency at Berlin institution Wilde Renate. While Noema focuses on contemporary electronica and leans towards the psychedelic, Magic Jams has a more acoustic sound inspired by dusty crate digging, the African diaspora, cosmic disco, and Balearic beats. David also runs the Magic Movement label and has released music by artists Nicola Cruz, Axel Boman, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Xique-Xique, and Eddie C.
 
On this killer vinyl only release you’ll find two funky disco weapons on the A, played with a full band set-up and reworked by Magic Jams, while on the flip, Noema presents a more cosmic disco drop featuring dazzling synths and some delectable drum programming.

Sameheads resident DJ, general dogsbody and musical reprobate. I do what I want when I want. I like all music and I’ve got no time for rules and dogma. I wear my passion for music like an ill-fitting body stocking and I’ll vomit in your ear about everything I like and hate if you so much as look at me. I recently sold hundreds of records as I cannot fathom why anyone needs more than a thousand. I’m not a collector, I’m not an expert and I’m barley a DJ. But I'm most definitely unpredictable like a once charming house-cat. Or a bear drunk on stolen schnapps and rotten honey. I have (almost unbelievably to myself) managed to bribe people I actually genuinely like and respect to release my so called ‘music’. I’m sure Google will help you locate me. 

You like party? You wanna party? Ok party boy, Lets go. 

Appleblim AKA Laurie Osborne

Laurie Osborne is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. I could literally chat shit about music with him for a solid week. He also happens to be a great DJ - you might know him is Applebim. He co-founded Skull Disco, pretty much the only ‘dub-step’ label I ever paid any attention to (I know, my bad I’m sure) alongside Shackleton. He's worked at London institution Music and Video Exchange and he has a ton of other interesting things going on that I’m going to make him talk about (or more likely play) as the first guest, on the first show of the new HEADS RADIO show. Seems I’m punching above my weight as usual. So I might just fuck it up and ask him to play his favourite top 40 hits. HA ! ( I won’t)
