The Golden Band From Tigerland plays this tribute to the Chinese Bandits after every defensive stop by the football team.

The Chinese Bandits were a group of ferocious second-string defensive players fielded by Paul Dietzel. The bandits made a name for themselves during the 1958 season, the year LSU won its first football national championship.

When the football team earns a new set of downs, The Golden Band from Tigerland plays this short tune. The fans yell "geaux Tigers" after every fourth note in every other measure through the first six measures.

The Tiger Band is regarded as one of the top college marching programs in the country. Before home games in Tiger Stadium, the band plays "Touchdown for LSU" immediately before the LSU football team takes the field.
