Let me tell you a bit about the process and how this song came to life.

About 3 weeks ago, I woke up in the morning, with a ryhthm and melody stuck in my head going round in a loop.
I was also accompanied by some weird dreams the past weeks. Dreams are like messengers to me, they matter.

But there was more. A feeling of loneliness, followed by a hint of "easy now" and then a surge of energy rushing through me, telling me "I want to..., no I've got to..., just do something with this... everything". Realizing a lot of the times we are driven by our desires (which is not necessarily a bad thing), I questioned my ambitions.

Desire is often associated with the "devil", also disguised as a good entity. It's seducing you, that you need something or that you are lacking of a certain thing. While this is all an inner process to be resolved by YOU, many times humankind projected this outside themselves instead of looking on the inside. So... what do I really want? What do I desire? It's really not a bad thing to know. Actually for me, it is quite important to give into it, be driven by and enjoy the outcome. In the end desire is also very sexy. It's just about knowing that nothing is permanent and everything will balance itself out, according to universal law. If we get too attached by the outcome and pleasure, desire can become a tool of self torture to ourselves.

I wasn't any close to actually making a song about this, just busy with creating the instrumental and felt a bit stuck. After a very good friend of mine came over and listened to the instrumental, he told me: "You need some choir in there bro"! My muse was back and the melody of it already buzzing in my head. I mobilized some friends to sing in the chorus! They left me pretty inspired by their energy, but still I didn't know what the song was about. My mind chattering. I want to know. We need a topic now. What's this all about... and then finally the realization. "I'm in the midst of it all. Desire."
