This track is the result of my work during the contest ran by T78 several months ago. The concept was to finish an approximately 3 minutes long arrangement started by him. This contest was running during the first COVID-19 wave so all the competitors had to imagine that a techno virus - called Virus T - creates music stronger than human beings. A laboratory conducted experiments until they find the antidote.

To be involved in this competition was a really great experience and even if I didn't win the contest I learned so many things thanks to T78 and his team. Having access to his Ableton project enabled myself to see how a professional producer and DJ works. It is priceless !

Everything contains a bright side and a dark side. This track is about the dark side of things. All that things that make life harder but also more interesting and can make you more complete if you learn to deal with them.

As this track is a remix, I first listened carefully to the original track then organized the original stems in my DAW. Then I started to choose what I wanted to keep from the original and what I wanted to replace with my own sounds. So I started to wrote my own rythmic part. At this point, the track begun to come to life.

After that, I felt like adding some effects on the original sytnhs and started to arrange all the parts. After the first part, I created a breakdown followed by a built-up introducing a new lead and finally the drop kicks in. It also introduces a new lead all created by myself.

The track goes on and a new break comes in, followed by another drop without any lead. Only the rythmic part is present to ensure maximum power during this second drop. Then I add some other parts one last time and begin to expose the outro of the track which leads to its conclusion.

I hope you will like this track as much as I enjoyed producing it !

Some of them are quite simple and do not require a lot of attention, some others can change your day or your week, but some choices are truly critical and can change your entire life without any possibility of going back. This track consists in a dark rhythmic part sustaining enigmatic voices & many percussions, not to mention a main melody you will easily remember. These elements are arranged in a way that expresses the fact to always keep progressing to your goals. Because as Eminem says, "you got to search within you, try to find that inner strength [...] and get that motivation not to give up !"

☸️ The "ensō" symbolizes the universe, enlightenment and "mu". "Mu" can be perceived as emptiness. These zen concepts remind us that life is full of cycles — full of circles.

☸️ Think about tides, think about epidemiological diseases, think about the moon rotation period and so many other things in our lives. Everything obeys to mysterious laws that could be tirelessly repeated following cyclic rules.

☸️ Nobody knows who is the great conductor of this everlasting theater so I wanted to share with you a track which could help us to feel and maybe understand how cycles are governing our lives.

What can help you to bear a lot of things in your life ? This is hope. What avoids you to collapse when everything seems to be wrong around you ? Hope. What is the only thing stronger than fear and that can bring a lot of things to life — even your own dreams ? This is hope.

Trust me. No life can be lived without hope !

Hope

Gelify is a musician based in Toulouse, France. He discovered music as a metal guitarist when he was 14 before taking a serious interest in jazz for ten years. In 2014, he fell in love with electronic music production and decided to get fully involved in it.

A year later, he released his first single titled "Melodic Rain" on Aftertech Records. Then he was contacted by Roxxx Records to release a full album. Over the next years, he produced three EPs and another album still released on Roxxx Records before releasing several singles as an independent artist.

But production is not the only activity of Gelify. He is also works on live sets he performs in the south of France. In 2019, he becomes more present on the techno scene thanks to Kurt Gainsbarre from the Rêve Party collective who sees in him great potential. In the early 2020s, he officially joined the collective.

Gelify's techno mixes solid grooves with hypnotic atmospheres that leave no one indifferent.
