030 | THE SOUND OF: BENZA

The following series was founded to acknowledge producers for their influence on shaping the sound in the electronic music genre while simultaneously showcasing the distinctive musical style of each artist, featuring both released and unreleased music in an all-original podcast format.

K92 aims to reintroduce a sense of mystery surrounding artists by bringing back the focus on the music itself and creating a blank slate for listeners to develop their own interpretations. As a result, the sets on this platform do not include any press photographs or biographies. Instead, each set has been personally signed by the artist to complete their signature sound.

@francesco-ambrosio-1 aka FRAN LF is a Sicilian born DJ & Producer based in Amsterdam, who has rapidly risen from the city’s underground scene with his old school & groovy brand of techno. Highly skilled and poised with audacious attention to detail, his choppy and aggressive approach to transitioning tracks whilst constantly pushing 3-4 channels is his signature. 

Although the Fran LF name has only recently come to prominence in the Netherlands, his 11 years experience as a DJ and promotor has allowed his skills to shine since beginning to play within Amsterdam and beyond. As a producer, he has presented a darker representation of his groove centric techno fascination, self releasing many EPs which have garnered support from industry heavyweights Daria Kolosova and many more.
Beyond this, he has also released with Robert Armani’s Traxxman Records and Voyeuristic Disorder, with an upcoming EP set for release on the prestigious hardgroove label Deadline Records. 

2023 also saw Fran resume his duties as an organiser of techno parties. Having cut his teeth in Malta where he hosted the likes of Endlec, he co founded the Amsterdam based collective “Vibrant”, hosting afterhours inspired day and night parties.

Lacchesi is invited for our 181th podcast. The French dj and producer is known for his fast paced techno sets consisting of jittery melodies and nervy baselines. In his productions, he takes a more diverse approach, releasing music ranging from hard hitting techno tracks to glitchy IDM pieces or soothing ambient soundscapes. His latest EP on his label Maison Close nicely showcases this.

For this podcast, he recorded a mix geared towards fast minimalistic grooves and experimental sounds.

The Chronics stands out as an artist of remarkable versatility, showcasing his prowess not only as a skilled DJ but also as a proficient producer.
