"Fady Hadad had sent me a song to sing over a couple months ago. He said he didn’t want any credit for writing the song. The lyrics are written from my point of view, he said. I’ve been an acquaintance of Fady’s for a decade or so. When I first interacted with him on SoundCloud, he didn’t go by his first name, Fady. He was called, “The Sporz,” which is his band name or artist moniker. His profile image was a picture of Bill Murray from the movie Stripes. Bill was pointing his finger, gun style, at the camera, pointing at whoever looked at the profile image. In my mind, Fady’s singing voice was actually Bill Murray’s.   

I was fairly new to the SoundCloud scene ten years ago. I think that a few months after I signed up, Fady (or The Sporz) had already released his first album. It is called, “Aluminum Umbrella.” Now, I’ve never listened to any of “The Sporz” Albums. I have listened to hours of Fady’s material, but not in Album Format. I decided today to finally see what all the mystery was about. Why has Fady failed to promote his albums on SoundCloud?  

A lot of the songs from the album are available on SoundCloud, and I have heard them before. However, my first complaint is that there are songs that Fady thought he could be slick and hide from all his SoundCloud fans on the album! Songs that are pure gems, and blissfully composed. Actually this isn’t a complaint at all. I think that is a good move to leave a few golden nuggets for the bravest of us to go log onto band camp and discover. (I honestly haven’t figured out the BandCamp Racket yet, I more of a Soundcloud man, mon.)  

The first track is a classic soundcloud release of The Sporz, I actually don’t know who the back up singer is, but she (Ohsowhy) is great on here. Maybe we should check her out too...

I will repeat that the name of the album is Aluminum Umbrella. Why? Because, it would be a great invention for someone to use to learn how to harness the energy of lightening, as Benjamin Franklin might approve. I might add that some of the songs are a sort of electrical conduit for the tortured depths of Fady’s beleaguered soul.   

This is not a typical review. I’m not a fan of doing a generic Rolling Stones blurb about some music that got mailed to my desk. I’ll just say this, that even though Fady and I have disagreed over many topics relating to our respective world views, Spirituality and the human condition, we can still be perhaps one of the closest companions on SC for this very reason. If everybody thought and believed the same way about everything on earth, then there would be nothing special or interesting about anything.   

There are some, in my mind, woefully naive lyrics made about “God, and gods, and no god” on one of this Sporz record; some strong language about telling me to hurry up and finish my business in the bathroom, and yet more atheistic musings, and mildly sacrilegious content, but  nothing that merits the “Wild Man Windle Card of Excommunication.” All of these sentiments anyone should be free to pursue and figure out on their own or in groups of likeminded academics (and anti-intellectuals). They certainly do not take away from the pleasure I receive from listening attentively to Aluminum Umbrella.   

Finally, here is a PSA for anyone: If you have a problem with someone’s point of view here on planet earth, and if you think that abstract ideas are dangerous, then you are a double-minded average Joe, or an Average Joan for your ladies (Joan Mitchell being an exception for a positive representative of the name), a victim of tv and social media programing... continue reading here:

gospel and  country music lover, singer/songwriter, conservative, christian,  truth soldier Brother.  i want to thank everyone on soundcloud for your support, right now i have got   100,000 plays i reached my goal                            show we had  last night, with J Ryan Daniels & Pace Alexander the host of The Sonic Truth Revolution Show, it was a pleasure too me for them to have me on as their first guest on their new Tue, night show, i really enjoyed my self, i want too thank my Truth Brother's , J Ryan Daniels & Pace Alexander for having me on, we had a great time, i also want to thank all of my great supporter's on Soundcloud, and everyone on Soundcloud, Facebook & Twitter for tuneing in and listening to the show last night, i love everybody, and everybody take care now. hey my soundcloud friend's i love you all and i support you,  and i appreciate your support, here lately i've been getting  comment's that i don't appreciate, just wanted to let you know there are some people on here that are jealous, and one thing i can't stand is a jealous singer or musician, and i've had my share of them down through my singing career, i don't have any time for a jealous singer or musician, they may be the best singer or musician, but if they are jealous they ain't worth 2 cents,  i'm not on here to make a name for my self or be a star, i just love music, and love to hear other people sing and play, if they don't want to support me that's fine, i made it before with out them, if they don't have anything good to say about me, they don't need to say anything at all, i don't need their support.  if you will  look close at the background picture of the Snail, you will see my picture in the center of the Snail's coil, i found this Snail in my garden not to long ago, i was amazed  and scared when i cleaned the dirt off of it, and saw my picture in the center of the coil on that Snail Shell, i couldn't believe it, so i took a picture of it with my phone, everybody can see it, it only show's up on my phone, my family took a picture of it 2 or 3 time's, and nothing showed up, just the Snail, i took another picture of it, and there it was again , my picture on the Snail.
