Sound Liberation's new album 'Days' on Composers Concordance Records 
Release March 2014. 

Sound Liberation is an eclectic group that performs music encompassing a diverse range of musical genres. The new album 'DAYS,' focuses on r&b and hip-hop, with songs and raps that are still new, eclectic and span the world of sound but emphasize the two popular genres. The singles: 'Breath' and 'Need' feature the fabulous vocals of Chanda Rule. These songs are influenced by r&b, rock, chamber music, and hip-hop rhythms and incorporate the groups musical philosophy, developed by band founder Gene Pritsker, which is based upon "ending the segregation of sound vibration (i.e. musical Genres)". Hip-hop anthems like 'Rap Sense', 'Loan Shark' and 'Capitalism Running Wild' are taken from Gene Pritsker's hip-hop-chamber opera 'Money'. The title track 'Days' is a dupstep remix of a song form our last album 'Open Up Your Ears & Get Some' while 'What Shall I Do' is a voice, guitar and string quartet arrangement of a song from that same album. 'Closer to Me than My Own Breath' is an aria form Pritsker's chamber opera William James Varieties of religious Experience'. 'Fake' and 'Tragic' are hip-hop jams based on orchestral samples. The last 2 tracks on the album are from a live concert at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC.

Sound Liberation’s 9th studio album, ‘Better Now’, continues the bands eclectic musical exploration. Sound Liberation's musical philosophy, developed by band founder Gene Pritsker, is based upon "ending the segregation of sound vibration (i.e. musical Genres)". The group incorporates its philosophy by performing compositions that encompass a diverse range of musical genre, heavily influenced by hip-hop and rock rhythms. This enables one to hear elements from classical music to Jazz to music of various cultures at a Sound Liberation show.

On ‘Better Now’ Gene Pritsker’s compositions explore soul, hip-hop, modern jazz, cross over classical, blues, r&b, jazz fusion and more. Recorded over a period of two years in various locations and studios, some tracks recorded remotely some in a studio station. The album takes you on a no holds bar genre defying journey that is the defining style of Sound Liberation.

‘Operatic Electric’ consists of Juecheng Chen - countertenor, Gene Pritsker - Composer/ Di.J./Guitar. The duo performs Gene Pritsker’s compositions written for countertenor and electronics as well as re contextualizations of classic aria’s. Their debut self-titled album explores and re-imagines the music of John Dowland, Henry Purcell, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Claudio Monteverdi, as well as original compositions by Pritsker that push the boundaries of the countertenor's voice and how it can blend within various genres and styles.

Composer/guitarist/rapper/Di.J./producer Gene Pritsker has written over 900 compositions, including chamber operas, orchestral and chamber works, electro-acoustic music and songs for hip-hop and rock ensembles. All of his compositions employ an eclectic spectrum of styles and are influenced by his studies of various musical cultures.
	He is the founder and leader of Sound Liberation; an eclectic hip hop-chamber-jazz-rock-etc. ensemble and co-director of Composers' Concordance. Gene's music has been performed all over the world at various festivals and by many ensembles and performers, including the Absolute Ensemble, Adelaide Symphony, MDR Symphony, The Athens Camarata, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Brooklyn, Shanghai and Berlin Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Riga, Orchester des Pfalztheaters, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Anhaltische Philharmonie, ensembleKONTRASTE as well as such soloists as Anne Akiko Meyers, Lara St. John, Kathleen Supove, Sarah Chang, Martin Kuuskmann, Tim Fain, Borislav Strulev and Simone Dinnerstein. He has worked closely with Joe Zawinul and has orchestrated major Hollywood movies, Including 'Cloud Atlas', for which he wrote additional music and composed his ''Cloud Atlas Symphony’.
	The New York Times described him as "...audacious...multitalented." Joseph Pehrson, writing in The Music Connoisseur, described Pritsker as "dissolving the artificial boundaries between high brow, low brow, classical, popular musics and elevates the idea that if it's done well it is great music, regardless of the style or genre". Classical Music Sentinel writes:  "His expressive reach is so wide as to encompass everything from ethno/techno, rock/jazz fusion, classical opera and more, and it all seems to be effortlessly integrated within his anima and comes out through different facets of his persona. You could almost see him as a modern day renaissance man.” 
	Raul DaGma writes in his article ‘Gene Pritsker: Varieties Of Musical Experience’: "Gene Pritsker is a modernist at heart. If there is something new to be said to describe an old form or even a formless old thing – as old as yesterday, that is – this extraordinary musician will be among the first to say it…All of his music is of the highest quality, audacious and witty, joyous and elevated, and incomparable to anything written and recorded. In all of this Gene Pritsker has created a singular vocabulary, spoken not only by someone deeply schooled in music, but also in history, theology and philosophy."
