This is a Mini Mix I was asked to do for "The Beatles & Black Music" Documentary on BBC Radio 1xtra Hosted By Semtex and featuring Interviews with Sir Paul McCartney, Q-tip, Questlove, Common, Benga and Roots Manuva. 
The Mini Mix shows how The Beatles have influenced Black music over the years with sampling covers and remixes. Enjoy!

Bartender Micky says its where he belongs
as he pours another drink for General Hatsenbichler
who longs for the good old days when things where much slicker
when he had just reached his prime
that was a very, very, very, very glorious time
but now he feels things have changed
when all he wanted was more of the same
but General Hatsenbichler is still very cool
as he drinks his whisky surveying the world from his stool
And the ladies still want to be in his life
even though he once said he left his horse and shot his wife
cause the ladies all love a charming vagabond
and the General just loves his wine women and song
he especially likes his country and western music
and he dances so much you'd think he was scared to lose it
but the General will never lose his sense of rhythm
its something that will always be within him
like his hat and pistol it will always be a favourite soulmate
caus these are the lonesome cowboys favourite dates
But who knows one day he may settle down
but if you said that now he'd probably give you a frown
cause the General just wants things to stay the same
where everyone supports his side in his favourite game
which is life as he knows it
a glorious affair unless he blows it
which he's not about to do do
