The edit was also inspired by the request of creating a sound track for JOR-D ‘White Rabbit’ collection at Kornit Tel Aviv Fashion Week. It was an exciting journey for me to explore fresh possibilities and bring a new perspective to this iconic track."

This project showcases the unique blend of Genish and Shiran's musical styles, fusing electronic beats with Middle Eastern melodies and captivating Yemeni original lyrics and vocals spread on infectious rhythms. The EP takes listeners on a mesmerising journey through a blind of distinctive musical traditions filled with grooves that are impossible to resist. Adding to the EP's allure is the exceptional talent of keyboard virtuoso, Ron Bakal. His melodies elevate the tracks to new heights, providing an exquisite touch that enhances the overall listening experience.

In the titled track “Layla” Genish builds and drops layers on top of layers until Ron’s Korg enchanting melody crawls over window-rattling bass and Shiran’s rapid-fire tenor explodes the groove’s center. The trio’s ability to shift styles is as radical as it is organic, as they drop into the nearly traditional yet futuristic mix of Yemeni language and disco touch in ‘Galbi’.

Playing at the legendary art car of Maxa camp at Burning Man was an experience that transcended time and space. Reflecting on my journey from a raver in 2017 to a performer of the art cart in 2024 felt surreal and multi-dimensional. It was as if I had stepped into a living artwork, where every moment resonated with the echoes of my past while forging new connections in the present. This evolution not only marked a personal transformation as an artist but also embodied the essence of the Burning Man experience—creative expression, community, and the magic of the moment.

Genish is thrilled to announce the release of his much-anticipated track, "Shushanna," which features a deeply moving Kurdish prayer sung by the late Savta Shushanna. This beautiful tribute honors her life and legacy, ensuring her memory lives on through music. The story behind this poignant collaboration is as heartwarming as the track itself. A good friend of Genish, Aviram, visited Genish's studio with an external hard drive containing cherished audio recordings of his grandmother singing and praying in Kurdish. These recordings were made to document her voice for the family, preserving her essence and honoring her life after her passing. Intrigued by the emotional weight of these recordings, Genish listened to them and discovered several hooks that sparked inspiration. What followed was a captivating creative process that resulted in the birth of "Shushanna." Since its inception, the track has graced stages across the globe, from the vibrant atmosphere of Burning Man to the sun-soaked shores of Ibiza.
