Sum up of discussion, Games on Apple TV are not interesting if they have a mobile type format (like Clash of Clans)

I tried to post this in the comment section of the article in question, they deleted it for some reason.

No device like this is "the future of gaming." But the Nvidia Shield platform is 100x better than Apple TV. It's just Apple fanboyism.

I have to wonder if this conglomeration of game consoles and TV devices is good or bad for the industry. Will it result in downgrading of games, or upgrading of hardware? As a fan of games and hardware, it's a tough battle... although I have successfully ignored iOS as a gaming platform thus far. I don't really know if I'm missing anything interesting, but I can't say I'm upset with my decision to date.

If you like Apple don't buy an Apple TV, but a Mac Mini and plug it into your TV.

I don't own an Apple TV, nor any of their products but I do think there is some room for them to compete with consoles and the Wii in particular. Since it's the main screen of a living room you need to get all the people involved making party games the obvious choice. Cards against humanity, mario card clones, Mario Party clones, Brawlers, board games and other games along those lines. I do agree that you shouldn't even see games that are not specifically developed for the Apple TV.

My FireTV Stick is my Jackbox stick. One of the few things that have worked well imo
