The first try of making a 2-Step/UK Garage track.

Since I was using nothing but hardware on it, initially I was about to record it DAW-less on a cassette tape like I did for my previous tracks. But after making a tape version eventually changed my mind and recorded and mixed everything in Ableton.

Here I used my Roland MC-101 for a drum section and TE OP-1 for the rest.

Remix Challenge: "Caroline" by Symmetrik

Symmetrik’s "Caroline" is an electrifying track packed with moody synths, punchy basslines, and infectious vocals, making it a standout hit in Northern Ireland’s dance scene. I was immediately drawn to its energy and versatility, which inspired me to take on the remix challenge and put my unique spin and my Vocals on this banger.

For my remix, I wanted to maintain the emotional depth of the original but elevate it with a fusion of [Edm, Techno or drum & bass] elements. I played around with tempo shifts, adding intricate layers of percussion and reworked the bassline to give it an even more driving, club-ready sound. My goal was to take the catchy vocals and reframe them with a fresh twist, creating a version that keeps the energy alive while bringing something unexpected to the table.

This challenge provided the perfect opportunity to showcase my production skills, pushing "Caroline" into a new sonic direction. I’m excited to share it with the community and see how others have reimagined this incredible track.
