Hailing from Southern California, BINZ is a Dj, soundman, and record collector. His musical focus covers both the foundational and current sounds of Jungle / Drum and Bass music. Currently, part of the Los Angeles based 13Crowz, BINZ has been broadcasting for over 10 years on globally recognized Jungletrain.net, which hosts some of the biggest names in Jungle and Drum and Bass. DROOGS017 makes its return with a 12" courtesy of Quartz in the form of a razor-sharp two-tracker, showcasing his trademark precision and stripped-back engineering.

The A-side, “Duplicity,” is a masterclass in minimalism cold, skeletal, and immersive, driven by tight basslines and subtle rhythmic shifts. Quartz proves that less truly can hit harder.

On the flip, “Black Prism” a collaboration with Overlook dives into raw ’90s techstep territory. Choppy breaks and haunting stabs build relentless pressure before giving way to a surprisingly blissful finale.

Quartz continues to cement his reputation as one of drum & bass’s most distinctive modern voices.
